If it comes down to Donald Trump or Clinton I might have to consider Clinton as much as I loathe her and think she would be a terrible president.

Because it appears at least at this juncture Trump doesn't take the issue of foreign policy seriously enough to even get a handful of well regarded competent advisers.

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/433187/donald-trumps-foreign-policy-advisers-skeptical-reviews

I mean come on. How hard would it be for him to come up with a handful of decent advisers even at this early date?

I had hopes that at least if Trump were elected he would take the businessman tact of "I'll hire good people to run things for me" or something like that. Now, I don't know.

He wouldn't recognize good advice. People talented and smart enough to give good advice would refuse to work with him. Either way, his foreign policy would be a complete disaster.

What? I see a glorious future for The Donald on the battlefields of the world as Commander in Chief. He's full of win.

The National Review has gone almost as nuts as Glenn Beck. I'd disregard most of what they say.

Why not just asking him to consider not voting?

Microsofts's new AI went online and within 24 hours it said "Ted Cruz is the Cuban Hitler."

Would Jesus let people die on the streets; the way Ted Cruz would?

That's a fake name. Stop trying to convince people to write-in a fake candidate, or else I'll report you to the FEC.

If they had faith in the Lord they wouldn't be dyin' in the streets. :bergman:

When Rubio and Cruz double-teamed Trump on that issue in one of the early debates, they really screwed up by not mentioning that they weren't going to let people die in the streets.

I would not vote for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, not even to prevent the election of Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.

As despised and ineffective as the current French president is, it seems to me that the next four years will be particularly good years for being in France rather than in the U.S.

I wonder if I could have myself declared an honorary Canadian (do I have to start spelling it "honourary"?) since my grandmother was Canadian. Eh? :eh:

If it comes down to it, then I agree with the assessment, if not Dayton's reason for it. Clinton is an establishment candidate who will broadly continue with Obama's policies, but her administration will be at least nominally sane. One led by Trump or Cruz will be unpredictable and much more dangerous.

The primary role of POTUS is commander in chief and representative (head of state) of the US to the world. Trump has made statements that not only have disqualified him from either role but have alarmed our military commanders. The rest of the world is cringing at what redneck republicans have wrought.

Just wondering, what have you against Ted Cruz? I personally am marginally 'Ok' with him, though I do have questions I want answered. For example, I heard he believes in Dominion Theology (a theocratic ideology that seeks to implement a nation governed by conservative Christians ruling over the rest of society based on their understanding of biblical law) which, if true, would be disturbing and preclude me from voting for him...
