    Those are pretty damned awesome. Cagney-Hulk and Gable-Iron Man are my favorites.

    The obvious choice for the Joker is Conrad Veidt (probably best known for playing the German Major Strasser in Casablanca):

    Why is he the obvious choice? Because years earlier, Veidt made a film called The Man Who Laughs, about a man with a face that is disfigured into a permanent grin. And his appearance in that film *IS* what inspired the look of the Joker:
