Hey, General! Thanks for being a fucking disgrace to your profession & all around sleazy shit bag. Nice how when you are that high up you get the option of retiring. :dayton: A lower ranking (younger, impulsive instead of wise & level-headed) military member would be thrown in fucking Leavenworth and lose everything. But this fucker might have to retire at the highest rank achieved before he started his affair. So, his pension will be smaller - cry me a fucking river stud boy! :weep: Mark my words - his ass will make a fortune as a motivational speaker with his inspiring story of redemption - America loves a fucking come-back, right?

If the wife didn't know then it wasn't swinging it was adultery.

Next he used gov email and cell phone and left work repeatedly to arrange meetings and talk to the woman. :jayzus: How stupid.

Next I'm betting she turned him in anonymously.

In my mind the blackmail & extortion threat from enemy nations alone spells out a complete lack of responsibility with this guy. Sorry but IMO just being in the military means you are a cut above the average joe. And being a high ranking officer (and Ranger qualified!) means you are in the highest percentile of excellence in US society that can be achieved. Maybe this guy believed his own hype and his ego made him ten feet tall & bullet proof - who knows? Who knows what any of us might do if we were strong, handsome & powerful? The general is flesh & blood at the end of the day. What really really fires me up is that the military presents themselves as a bastion of equality, fairness, integrity, consistency, etc.etc. for all it's members - but then treats this guy like a middle school kid who got caught smoking behind the school. If Anna or Anc or myself had done any of the things this general did we'd be thrown under the jail, or at a minimum kicked out under dishonorable circumstances.
Yes, higher ranking people get cut a lot of slack because they have a lot of experience & knowledge and are harder to replace - millions have been spent on their training - I get that. But when you are BEGGING to be set up because there is a mountain of dirt on you because you can't keep your dick in your pants you are magnitudes of dangerous above Bradley Manning for example. True, the vast majority of the military officers are great people on & off the job. But when something like this comes up (probably the most severe example of dangerous and disgraceful serial misbehavior) the military should hang em'high by stripping them of all their retirement benefits. Example: I have seen an E-6 on terminal leave (meaning you are retired but technically still in the military and just using up your accrued vacation time) and got recalled to his unit for a piss-test. Spoiler alert - he had smoked weed while he was sitting around the house growing a beard and watching TV and otherwise enjoying his retirement. He came up "hot" and the army kept him in well past his retirement date just so they could charge him and kick him out under less-than-honorable conditions, so he lost most of (if not all) of his future pension & benefits. Vindictive, petty and totally unnecessary of the military to charge him? You bet your ass, but technically within their legal rights to charge him and convict him. Maybe he didn't have enough heavy-weights fighting on his side so he got railroaded, who knows? Okay that's enough about this, I'm making myself upset.

I'm not even sure why you quoted my post as your rant has nothing really to do with what I pointed out.

It's unfortunate that his personal sex life became a public issue, but the security liabilities in his position are real.

exactly - I've always been pretty easy going when it comes to what people do on their off duty time, unless it's something that is dangerous or threatening to the team/mission. This dude was off the rails to the extreme.

He learned it all from a former Commander in Chief. Any guesses whom that could be?
