UK Independent The British ambassador to Saudi Arabia has completed the Hajj pilgrimage after converting to Islam. It is believed Simon Collis may be the first British ambassador to perform the holy trip. He was photographed at the pilgrimage site wearing white robes traditionally worn for the pilgrimage. He was pictured alongside his wife Huda Mujarkech in photos posted to Twitter. He has since revealed he converted to the faith shortly before their marriage in 2011. That could potentially raise some interesting questions. Obviously the British government doesn't have a serious problem with it or he would've been recalled, but judging by the story's comment section, quite a few Brits think he's a traitor. Yet nobody really has a problem with Jewish ambassadors or Secretary's of State.
He's only a traitor if he follows extremist Islamist views contrary to British values. Otherwise nobody has the right to judge him and are simply using it as an excuse for bigotry...and your comparison is actually a good example of the inconsistency (not that antisemitism is a think of the past yet from some folks).
It may actually help him do his job because he won't be viewed as "the infidel" in the high-level meetings. His twitter His wife's twitter
He'll make the perfect leader for the Islamic version of the Vichy government when they take over the island.
Probably not a big change in behavior for Brits nowadays. They're already bent over for islam, just slide a prayer rug under them and point them in the right direction.
