The blame begins with the candidate. She was not very well liked even from within many in her own party. Her strategy of "Im experienced and he's mean" was pushed in every campaign commercial and it got old quick. From the very beginning it was obvious that the electorate didnt want another classic politician yet Hillary reminded them of her "experience" every chance she got. Plus her constant hammering on Trump for his behavior was a flawed strategy. Donald has been in the public eye for decades. We already knew he was a cantakerous asshole so jamming that home was only going to annoy people. Plus selectively editing his statements to twist them into something else only backfired.

Face it, Hillary was a bad candidate to run in a change election

See, with our parliamentary system in Canada, me living in the centre of Toronto casts a vote equal in power to my friend who lives in Yellowknife, NWT. I vote for a Member of Parliament whose party's leader will become Prime Minister. That person has already been in the pubic eye for quite sometime and likely has been the "Leader of the Opposition" in parliament. Each of our MP's represents about 100-125 000 eligible voters. Districts are changed (in theory) by the concentration of people in the area. I mean, it's a great idea for your senate (i think) to have two reps from each state, but why elect a leader based on weighted votes rather than popular? Sounds a bit like rotten boroughs...

I'm pretty sure that in 150 years of Canada, we've never had to call an election over bad weather. I don't have any idea what contingencies would be in place? I'd assume the same thing that would've hapened to Trump's popular vote in states affected by a weather emergency... say Florida getting hit by a hurricane or New Orleans flooding.

You're going to have to provide something like actual convictions about CA and NY allowing voter fraud by illegal aliens. So let's just skip over that paragraph.

Bullshit. 100 percent pure unadulterated bullshit. The only people who can bitch are those who are restricted from voting by law - too young, in prison, foreign citizens, etc. But if you are eligible to vote and did not choose to do so, you have the right to free speech (bitching) and I have the right to ignore you like I would a neighbor's yapping puppy.

Depends on if there's a "None of the Above" option on a ballot.

There's also a complete lack of faith in the process... i.e.; the candidates offered. Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich

funny about the popular vote - they are studying the results in some swing states and Trump would have won a few more electoral votes and spanked her even MORE!
I can't blame the Dems for trying though I guess, but sorry - you lost, accept it, and get to work opposing him if that's your goal.

vote third party! If everyone does it things might change. You can't say it's a lack of money stopping any third party - Trump didn't spend shit compared to Hillary.

meh-I felt sorry for you yanks ever since the end of the primaries.

Sure, we have to put up with the smell wafting north, but you guys have the next four years of shit to sleep in ahead.

Not that it would have mattered either way... 350 million people, and those two were the best you could come up with.

our third party has done pretty well... been the official opposition, governed a couple of provinces, generally held enough influence to make or break deals... you get the idea. Shit, it's predecessor was partly founded on socialized health care and made it happen. That was 50+ years ago, and you guys are still paying Wall Street for an arguably lesser service.

It's weird, watching an empire crumble.

Yeah I said that a lot - we all did. But the parties run who the parties run - I don't know their thought process. Regardless, a choice between an untrustworthy criminal and a crude but well meaning carnival barker? This ended very well indeed! :D

He never took the opportunity to throttle the tango-coloured buffoon, screaming "mission accomplished" ever louder into Trumps purpling face, rivulets of spittle and tears washing away lines of fake tan, before dusting himself down, smiling, and telling the nervous, shocked class of children on a tour of the White House "That's a fucking legacy for you, tell your asshole parents I finally came good" and then jumping on a motorbike and riding into the sunset, to the sounds of ZZ Top, never to be seen again.

what the fuck is that supposed to even mean? They're calling for an early winter, so it'll be bumper crop in the maple syrup industry .

Besides, I haven't even been to sugarbush in at least five years.

it was a joke - I'm sure most people would have recognized it as such - as you did, but are putting me on. BTW I have harvested sugar maple syrup before in Wisconsin and it's a cool process - and if you cook it down to maple candy WOW!

You said you vote for a Member of Parliament. You don't vote for the Prime Minister. In the 2015 election Justin Trudeau only got 26,391 votes.

That's a cute rule. Now try to enforce it.

Free speech is not contingant upon voting. You don't even have to be a citizen; you don't even have to be in this hemosphere.

Economics, not archeology. You can't even get the topic right.

Western European culture dominates the globe to this day due to being a few key geographical advantages.
