https://www.theguardian.com/comment...can-left-will-be-reborn-under-president-trump I'm old enough to be excused for Permanent Cynic Status, but this article nevertheless portrays what I view as a silver lining of the Hillary Debacle. We're about to witness whether the Dems possess the moxy to listen to their inner FDR and come out fighting, or whether they'll lapse back into Obamo-Clintonism. And thus swirl down the bung-hole of history. The whole Bernie-Hillary thing and the ensuing Clinton Catastrophe* has brought the Democratic Party to the point where it faces a fundamental split in its ranks. Hard to say at this point whether an actual split would be an all-round disaster or a healthy thing. I lean toward the latter --- ultimately a good thing. But it doan hafta come to that. *Remember: Hillary won almost three million more votes than Donald did. But the US is not a democracy. Still, it's to her everlasting shame that she didn't wipe the effing floor with the sorry-ass bugger.
Back when it seemed Trump would lose, I said the Republians had been kept back by the knuckle dragging Evangelical Pharisees in the party. But we've got a similar problem of too many elites with no real concept of the everyday struggles of the poor, while middle American or otherwise. I'm all for a split.
fake news - democrats don't have a soul! And correct me if I'm wrong but Hillary was (I hope) fully aware of how the electoral college works, so she should have structured her strategy with this in mind. Amazing she has more political experience (and allegedly intelligence) than Trump, but yet she lost to a rank outsider rookie.
Precisely why the Dems have to shed this whole limpdick wing of their party, and it's never been more obvious than right now.
If the Democratic Party continues with Hillary as the face of the party, I will have to move to a third party. If the Democratic party changes and takes up where Bernie left off, I will follow.
Theoretically nice but in reality lobbyist money buys campaign ads and gotv efforts which win elections. So either outlaw it for everyone, fat chance getting corrupt incumbents to cut themselves out of corruption, or accept that which ever side unilaterally disarms will lose. Again, you are an idealistic child with little grasp on reality. The rest of us dealt with this reality decades ago.
