I've been wanting to share some of my art these days. I also don't post much so I feel I should at least share some enjoyment with you all. This will mostly be photography but I will include other art as it comes to fruition. Always open to honest feedback and criticism. Lemme know what you all think. The following are simply a collection of my favorite shots from the past year.
Newest drooring. Wouldn't mind some second eyes to critique. Been having some trouble with the mouth and nose shape. But I think they will fall better into place when I shade out the rest of the face.
I think a little more shadow around the nose would do the trick -- the shape is about right, it just doesn't have the depth.
Very nice art. I read The Mad Art of Caricature a while back and it was very useful for helping me learn which features and relations are crucial for getting a good likeness. Two things that are especially important: the shape of the eye, and the way the skin folds over the top of the eye. Even when you're doing a realistic portrait, knowing to spend extra time getting these right is important.
Finished! Quite a long way before I reach where I would like on my skills. But considering this is the 3rd drawing I've done in 5 years, I'm pretty okay that this is where I am. Long long ways. But I poured myself into these and now all I wanna do is draw all the time.
Received approval on my last two pieces just yesterday. Directly from Meg Myers as well as Bill Hick's brother. Year made.
Been doing some reading on expressionism and color theory to finish this one. I've definitely needed the reminder. It's helping quite a lot, I think. Sam is quite excited about this one and wants me to make shirts. Thinking about it.
You'll want to be very careful using a well-known celebrity's likeness on shirts (or anything else you charge people for). Lots of sticky legal issues there.
Nope. It's recognizably Bowie so there could be a Cease and Desist letter if the right (wrong) person saw one.
