He's playing the "I talked to Russia in my role as a senator, not as a Trump campaign member" card, but he also said "well, I've been called a surrogate (of Trump's campaign) and I never talked to Russia" so he kinda made the link himself. What do we think? And if he did, what will happen to him? My guess, eventually he'll avoid it by recusing himself from any investigation, whereas more correctly if he did lie to Congress he should be out of a job or in jail.
Where you arrived several days previously and could hand them a refreshing drink as they cross the line, plus have already booked dinner. Comments from people who aren't assholes?
No he didn't lie. The first time he met this Russian Ambassador was after he gave a speech when a group of diplomats from various countries approached him to talk to him. The second time was while he was on the Senate Armed Services Committee. On that committee he also met with Australia, Britain, Canada, China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, and Poland Ambassadors. He was not part of the Trump campaign. He was accused of being part of the campaign which is why he said the surrogate bit. The Democrats are lying so hard that they can't even keep their stories straight. The Democrats are desperate to sink Trump. We now know Obama is running the "resistance" out of his house. Valerie Jarrett has even moved in to the house. Keep going Democrats. Keep making it easy for the GOP to win more seats.
Because someone else lied doesn't mean your boy didn't. But then Republicans DO have this problem with more than binary thinking.
FYI, I think McCaskill should be censured over this. But let's be clear, she isn't the one in a position to influence any investigation like Sessions is, which is the real concern here. A senator lying is bad. The White House legal supremo lying UNDER OATH is a whole different shindig, but Breitbart-spouter Zombie won't admit that on pain of losing his "one of us" merit badge.
So you admit lying under oath is a big deal. Good, now we no longer have to deal with, "Republicans wanted to impeach Bill Clinton over a blow job."
They wanted to impeach him because he was Bill Clinton. I want to get rid of Jeff Sessions because he's a Nazi.
Again, a liar can call another liar a liar and be right, provided it's in their interests. The question is, are you gonna ignore your boy's crap because yadda yadda other side etcetera, or are you gonna show some fucking integrity?
I've never said differently. Feel free to waste your time trying to prove otherwise - it'll at least be more productive than anything else you've done here.
I came up with a good heuristic, it goes "lying under oath is a big deal unless you're being questioned about getting a blowjob from a staffer"
I love how you, Turdrun and @Herbalist have me pegged as a hardcore racist Trump supporter. Perhaps you can provide evidence of this?
Feel free to point to anything in my post that says you're a Trump supporter. I just said you have no fucking integrity.. Can't help it if that overlaps with Trump on the big Venn diagram.
It doesn't matter what their motivations were, they had him on an actual impeachable offense. If you think the Democrats wouldn't have done the same to W or now Trump, you're crazy. Jeff Sessions may have lied, but he's not a Nazi and it's up to Trump or Congress to remove him.
You were defending him, ergo your boy. You may not be behind Trump, but your posts put you behind Sessions. Thus, he's yours. Should I use fewer (less) syllables? Edit: OK, I'll admit you haven't come out in support of Sessions here. But you went for the "Dems do it too waaah!" line. And I learnt of McCaskill's hypocrisy after I launched the OP. So... Let's start again. McCaskill bad. Sack her. Sessions bad and somewhat worse since he could influence the investigation. Good that he recused himself - should quit. Now, equally reasonable points?
Here's a link since @Dinner didnt provide one. https://mobile.twitter.com/NBCNightlyNews/status/837412374281863168/photo/1
I haven't defended Sessions once, I discussed theDemocrats and their disengenous nature. That's not the same as defending him.
He should probably resign and there should be a special prosecutor to settle all of this so we can move on to more important things.
Of course they would. The difference is that I wouldn't pretend that the whole thing is just about whatever technical issue I used to put impeachment on the table - no idea whether the Democrats will do that, if they're ever in a position to impeach Trump.
You seriously think a special prosecutor would settle anything? You got President Trump critics bitching and moaning because Conway had her feet on a couch in the Oval Office
The same way people bitched and moan about Obama putting his feet up on a desk with high ranking officials. People on both sides nitpick their opposition to death. Shocker!
