http://www.cbr.com/bernie-wrightson-passes-away/ To non-comics folks, he was a legend in the field. He co-created Swamp Thing, he created Captain Sternn who was in the movie "Heavy Metal", he was working on a CGI Captain Sternn movie that still hasn't seen the light of day, he did "Batman: The Cult", and "Batman vs Alien", he did the graphic novel version of "Creepshow", and illustrated "The Stand", and "Cycle Of The Werewolf", which was adapted into "Silver Bullet", he was just plain awesome. Another genius gone, and the world is a little more darker.
His Batman. His Superman. Swamp Thing. Frankenstein. Art from Cycle Of The Werewolf (the book was SO much better than the movie). A page from Captain Sternn.
*Smacks forehead* Right! He illustrated "Hulk/Thing: The Big Change", which is one of my favorite graphic novels ever! If they made it into a movie, it'd be right up there with "Guardians Of The Galaxy", for funny and cool mixed together. BUT, Fox is sitting on those Fantastic Four rights, so no Thing. Well, I hear "Thor Ragnarok", is funny, and that's a buddy-cop story same as "Big Change", so maybe they'll crib from it.
*Forehead smack again* This is what I was looking or when I hunted up the first batch of stuff, then I forgot it. The Crocodile Alien* from "Batman vs Alien". (*The comics set up long before "Prometheus", that they absorb the DNA of what they hatch out of)
I just had my memory jogged that he did concept art for Ghostbusters. He had a lot of ideas, but the only one that made it to screen was the famous zombie cabbie.
