What kind of dumbass home invaders have a conversation with an occupant holding an AR-15? The only thing they should've been saying is "I give up" or "I was just leaving."

On first blush it sounds like a righteous shoot. People break in, have weapons, intend to rob and who knows what else, resident repels the threat.

They weren't there to steal. They may or may not have known the people in the house, news says they didn't know, but to show up in black with masks and gloves? They were going to kidnap/kill someone in the house.

You'd be surprised. They probably were told to get lost and they got stupid and tried to intimidate the guy with the gun.

Stand Your Ground isn't necessary if they were in his fucking house.

Agreed. It looks like the writer confused SYG with the Castle Doctrine which, from a quick search, appears to be the law in Arkansas.

Yeah. Note how the article consistently refers to it as an "assault style rifle."

I also notice how the intruders are constantly referred to as teenagers. I imagine we'll get another round of Helen Lovejoying, along with some demonizing of the guy who shot them. Or maybe not, since all of the ones killed were white.

All this stuff is really the same thing at this point.
