Looking forward to the new season tomorrow. I've been rewatching the first two seasons and I like them more and more.

I wonder how soon we'll see Gus?

I've sat in those booths in the actual Twisters (real name of the restaurant in Albuquerque) that was used for Breaking Bad.

Very excited for Season 3! :hyper:

Just finished the first episode. I liked Mike's half of the episode very much. Can't wait to see how this all play's out.

    Same here. Good, suspenseful episode.

I wonder if Kim is sabotaging her deal with Mesa Verde because she feels guilty about how she got it. :chris:

Like Breaking Bad before it, I absolutely love the cinematography and editing in this show. Creative without being obnoxious. Just superb.

I really liked how the first scene after the teaser overlapped with the final scene from last season. :techman:

The scene with Mike taking his car apart and then later, eating pastacios, who knew that could be so interesting?

Other than Mike's story, I found the rest of the episode fairly ho-hum.

I do agree that the cinematography and writing are outstanding, but I guess my expectations after so many months were just too high.

Having just completed a S1 and S2 rewatch, I was okay with the plotline of the first episode folding directly into last season's finale. I am hoping they pick up the story pace a bit going forward, though.

I felt really, really, really bad for Saul working at the Cinabon. You can tell he hates his life. What happened to all of that WW money? I get that he's hiding out in Wisconsin, I think, but he should have enough money to be in a better place.

Better, probably has money for that. Safer... not if he wants to stay out of prison or under the radar. At the beginning os Season Two, when he got locked out he didn't cal for help, he waited until someone opened the door. So e has to stay quiet and cautious, And it wasn't cheap getting where he is, remember Walter was paying a lot just to stay in a shack. Jimmy's probably still on a wanted list.

I suppose so, but now that he's collapsed, he might be rushed to the hospital, which could spell trouble for him.

Hmmm. Not sure what to think about tonight's episode.

Loved seeing Los Pollos Hermanos and Gus Fring again. Mike's story is definitely the more interesting one so far this season (but it's still early.)

I didn't like the "cliffhanger". At all. Not seeing the issue with Jimmy barging into his brother's house and destroying a tape. What exactly did Howard and the private dick "witness"? I can't see Jimmy getting in trouble or being charged with anything, other than perhaps some minor nuisance-related offence. Doesn't make sense. I hope Vince Gilligan has something up his sleeve...

Agreed. I loved how they stretched out both the reveal of the LPH restaurant and "meeting" Gus. Good, good stuff.

I'm guessing what Jimmy did would be considered...robbery? Breaking and entering? Kicking in the door, destroying property, making threats (burning down the place). I suspect Chuck's game isn't to send Jimmy to prison, but to get him disbarred.

Agree about the disbarment... I only hope that's not the reason Jimmy becomes Saul.

I'm finding the whole falsified papers/tape recording schtick a little thin and not very believable. Chuck is a fucking wingnut (the house was covered in tinfoil, etc.) so who do you think the bar association would believe? Despite the fact that he's lying, Jimmy is in a far more believable position.

But I hope I'm wrong about where I think this is going. Definitely willing to give the showrunners the benefit of the doubt on this one.

It just shows how big of a dick Chuck is. I love how Gus is tracking Mike. I'm really liking this season so far, even though this thing with the tape is kind of convoluted. Oh and, “this one really doesn’t want to talk about Cracker Barrel.”

    Called it.

And this is by far the best-looking show on television. The shooting (the scene between silhouetted Kim and Jimmy was just beautiful) and editing (Kim getting ready for work) is just phenomenal. They've taken the standard they set with Breaking Bad to a whole new level.

Now THAT's more like it. A brilliant episode from so many perspectives: writing, acting, directing, cinematography.

I'm understanding Chuck's plan a bit better. You're right, @shootER -- the plan is to get Jimmy disbarred. I hadn't thought about a felony conviction being the problem.

    Things are definitely getting interesting...

I'm curious about what the "other thing" is that Mike found in Chuck's address book.

A combination to the safe where the original recording of Jimmy's confession is? Contact information for Chuck's ex-wife, who Kim can call as a witness to bolster the notion that Chuck is unhinged (which is what Mike's photos are probably for)?

I loved how Kim was able to get Chuck to confirm that there's another copy of the tape, which shows that he goaded Jimmy into the action he took.

Can't wait for tonight's episode which, unfortunately, is already the halfway point. :(

The combination to the safe would be great since Kim said, "got it" which could mean she was trying to get Chuck to say where the other tape is. I love the scene with Mike and Gus, "a bullet to the head would have been too humane." Yeah, a bomb on his wheelchair would be better.

    Huell! :techman:

Lavell Crawford and Steven Bauer (Don Eladio) both look so much older in Better Call Saul's "past" than they do in Breaking Bad's "present".

And I guess Mike did find contact information for Chuck's ex.

I loved the almost imperceptible camera dolly toward Chuck on the witness stand during his Captain Queeg moment. Brilliant work all around.

I didn't see any of that coming, but I did suspect Huel had planted something on Chuck, but I didn't know what. Jimmy knew Chuck's every move.

Wow! Can't wait to see the fallout from Chuck's testimony.
