So apparently Fox’s next to-be-cancelled SF series is “The Orville,” from and starring Seth MacFarlane. It basically seems to be “Galaxy Quest” as the TV series would have been. The part I like the most is that the ship’s captain (MacFarlane) has, as his first officer, his ex. All I could think of is, Wow, I wish I had thought of that twenty years ago when I created the crew for the Excalibur in “New Frontier.” Would that I had made Calhoun’s first officer his ex. Oh. Wait. PAD To which I commented: At least when this show gets cancelled, Seth will pay his taxes.
"Protagonist forced to work with ex" isn't the most common trope, but it's definitely a trope. Fuck Peter David.
If he did, PAD would spend three paragraphs expositing about the correct set of pronouns to use to refer to him.
They are making witcher games into a netflix series not peter david books. Got the actual polish writer involved.
The butt-hurt in that David post was hilarious. "wahhhhh, nobody made a TV show out of my Trek books from 20 years ago! Why does Seth McFarlane get all the attention? "
