crazy! Damn, those guys are OLD! But the remaining members are still kicking it, like the Rolling Stones and many bands and artists.
No kidding. Paul and Ringo ought to get back together for a shindig as guest artists with another group -- I'm sure Billy Joel would love to host them (Paul) again! Billy Joel and Elton John do another tour, with Paul and Ringo.
When the Beatles albums were released on that newfangled CD technology, the Sgt. Pepper CD came out on the 20th anniversary of the album's first release. The ads played off the "20 years ago today" theme shamelessly. So, holy shit, my Pepper CD is 30 fucking years old!
Had some of the Beatles stuff on cassette and my older brother had a couple of the actual vinyl records. I was a stupid kid and drew all over the Sgt Peppers vinyl album artwork. As an adult that makes me cringe. Wish we still had those old vinyls. But I do have all the Beatles songs on MP3 player and I have Beatles Anthology, Yellow Submarine, Hard Days Night, and Help on DVD.
Oh, I ripped all the Beatles to MP3 ages ago. Got 'em in the car, at work, and here on my PC. My big sister, though, got all the vinyl albums when they first came out. I think I have them at the moment, unless she took them back. But the vinyl is in the basement in storage these days.
I have some vinyl of The Beatles, but not Sgt. Pepper's. I bought a record player from target a few years ago and every once in a while go through my record collection. There's a used record store in town where you can find all kinds of stuff.
I have 45s of All You Need Is Love/Baby You're a Rich Man and Lady Madonna/The Inner Light. I think that's the only Beatles vinyl I have. I have a lot more Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, and Herman's Hermits 45rpm singles.
Has anyone listened to the remix version yet? It sounds fucking amazing!! They should remix the entire catalog since all but Abbey Road were originally mixed primarily in mono. The remastering in 2009 just cleaned things up.
No, this one was remixed, not just remastered. You have to check it out. I'm tempted to shell out the $100 for the set that has the blu-ray.
