President Trump Should Stay Overseas As Much As Possible.

I loathe the Russians and have for decades. That is well known both here and elsewhere.

That is The Hill but a quick look shows CNN and a dozen others covered the story. They bused in party supporters and activitists many of whom got paid as if it was a government election campaign.

If you "loathe" the Russian dictator like you "loathe" Trump does that mean you support him unconditionally and constantly make excuses for him?

I don't support President Trump unconditionally nor do I constantly make excuses for him.

The main reason I defend President Trump is I believe the attacks on him, both the nature of them and more staggering their intensity is bad for the country as a whole.

3) His arrogance and completely unjustified self confidence.
4) His lack of political skill.
5) His lack of knowledge about the United States and the world.
6) His lack of intellectual curiosity
7) His horrendously repulsive use of profane and vulgar language.
8) His use of social media and inability to simply shutup for awhile.


But.

I shouldn't have to list those things to explain what I don't like about President Trump.

I don't seem to recall that you condemned many of the baseless attacks against Obama. Not saying that you were a birther or anything, but I don't remember you speaking out against the birther movement to any degree. There, indeed, have been things said about Trump which go too far: Calling for him to be killed, for example, is something which no one should do. IIRC, Muad, for all his faults, did condemn the shooting of Gabby Giffords (though we did have one idiot here who supported her shooting), which is commendable. I don't remember if you said anything about Gabby being shot, but I'm assuming you were opposed to such a thing. (See? I don't think you're a complete monster.)

There were birther claims for John McCain as well.

Which got shot down almost immediately. The damaging claims about McCain (and these were spread by members of his own party) was that he'd had a child out of wedlock with a black woman. The reality was that he and his wife had adopted an infant from a Bangladeshi orphanage who almost certainly would have died if she'd have been left there.

IIRC, it was the Bush camp that started those particular rumors. I'm still bitter about that because I was supporting McCain in 2000 and it was my first opportunity to vote for President. Had he had won the nomination in 2000, I would have voted for him, instead I voted for Nader.

For Ted Cruz too.
