Meh, I've never been big on heads of state visiting disaster scenes - it's basically a glorified photo op. Their presence there doesn't really do anything, and they'd probably be more effective in their office getting funding approved.

It's the municipal and provincial/state officials who should be held to a high standard in terms of response to a disaster.

Every president goes running to photo ops in disaster areas. It is not like the really needy are allowed near the president without being checked out first. Trump is not superpope, and as president of the US he should not be risking his safety dealing with potentially dangerous unwashed masses when his assassination would hamper efforts to bring relief to disaster areas. I would feel better if a president stayed safe and sound and worked on bringing more relief to the area, but he is no worse than any other president in going to disaster areas.
