I consider an assault weapon to be any military grade weapon that can fire a continuous stream of bullets without depressing the trigger more than once. In other words:

The AR-15, a civilian semi-automatic rifle, is not an assault weapon.
A M16 used by the military, a fully automatic rifle, is an assault weapon.

What, in that statement, is incorrect?

You know, it just boggles my mind, the abject terror liberals have over an inanimate object. I mean I really can't think of a parallel. A natural gas water heater? Those are pretty dangerous. A cement mixer? A subway train? I bet getting hit with high-speed rail would pretty much ruin your day yet lefties cream their pants at the thought of them.

Unless I'm absolutely mistaken, which is not outside of the realm of the possible, the shotgun President Obama is using retails for about $40,000. Or, double the price of a legal M16 "drop in auto sear." Heh...

Edit: "Premium" British Double Barreled Hunting Shotguns have gone for upwards of $200,000+. There was an episode of Top Gear which went into this, briefly. A shotgun maker pimped out a Land Rover for the show. Price? 140,000 Pounds Sterling. The shotgun in the box in the back? More than double the price of the Land Rover.

Damn. A gun that expensive better fly me to my hunting destination, shoot itself, clean and process the game, then blow me afterwards.
