So Dianne Feinstein, one of my state senators, is already the oldest person in the Senate (she will be 85 at the date of the next election) has said she will run for yet another six year term. She will be 91 years old if she lives to complete this term and she will probably spend all of her time drooling into her cheerios in a wheel chair by then. Why is it so many Senators are there until they die of old age? Why is it so hard to get these old goats out when it is obvious to everyone they are long past the time they should have retired? I also have to admit that part of me is kind of glad we will have an ineffective dementia patient in that seat because, judging by Kamala Harris's record, who ever gets her seat when the old crone dies will probably be even worse.
They are too crunchy for her dentures? Well, the old folks home probably won't give her many options.
I am speaking about my two state senators, you dumb ass. Keep it up. You people tried claiming anyone who disagreed with you was a racidt and that blew up in your face. You tried to claim anyone who didn't vote for Hillary must hate women, but that didn't get you any votes. It shows what wastes of space you clowns truly are as all you have are baseless accusations and "how long have you been beating your wife" type drive bys.
Dianne Feinstein has been a tremendous servant for the people of California. Her grandparents were immigrants from Russia and Poland. She graduated from Stanford University... in 1955. President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and Mayor. She was elected to the Senate in a special election in 1992, and has been re-elected four times. In 2012 she received 7.75 million votes. She should not run for re-election. There are plenty of others who can carry on from here. 1978
Me: "Let's talk about an issue wrt the Senate and I will mention my two senators." Dumb ass: "I am not surprised you only spoke about women." Me: "I am talking about my two senators who both happen to be women." .... Yep, this is the left's new version of pretend everyone else is a racist only now with gender. It is transparent as a tactic, it is dishonest, and it will only keep alienating the majority from them but liberals like Anc are stupid herd animals so they won't figure it out until it is too late.
I do wonder why senator seems to be a lifetime job. Normal people retire at 65 and try to spend the rest of their lives relaxing. Senators must have such a love of trying to control other peoples' lives that they can't let go.
As for Feinstein, she's always been the most anti-gun senator, and has usually said stupid uninformed shit about guns. I'd have been happy to see her retire 20 years ago. And of course:
Isn't the Senate (and Congress) set up so that the longest serving members usually get the best positions? That was always my understanding.
Yep, so the least capable human vegetable which can do nothing but droll and follow a few words out of each sentence is placed in charge. What a great system.
It is not that this post proves you are sexist. It is your reputation overly that shows you to be racist and sexist. This could have been made by someone else and would not be sexist, but we know you are sexist so when you post something about women it 's always tainted by your sexism because you do not just turn it off. You also seem to be ageist too. Senators do not do much in life so I am pretty sure an elderly person could accomplish that much better than someone like the president. Trump, and so Clinton and Sanders, will have health issues as president because the stress does age you, but a senator could run their course until health issues become overwhelming because the loss of a senator does not actually stop congress from working. They stop working all on their own because dust fell, someone coughed, or they need a month long vacation after a couple of days of maybe showing up. However, I will accept that the stress of hearing Ted Cruz speak might be causing dementia to become worse as a reason why some elderly senators should quit.
Perhaps, but then you need to explain how Eddie Munster became speaker despite being relatively fetus like compared to many senators.
Normally the oldest senator from the party in control of the Senate gets to be "President Pro Tem" of the Senate. And thus fourth in line to be president. Though it isn't hard to understand why Senators resist retirement. It is hard to say goodbye to something you've been doing for decades. Especially if it looks like you're going out on a less than glorious note.
DUH! Has she ever hunted ducks? They fly the fuck out of range with a quickness! Three rounds is about all you can get off before they are too far away. As for hunting humans, when does that season open? I didn't see it in the Georgia hunting regulations. As for this.....wow! Does she need to carry notes with her reminding her to breath? Damn she must be dumber than a box of rocks! Some people keep their wits about them well into the later stages of their life......then we have this woman!
Do we have an actual source for that quote, or do we just have the probable interpretation of the meme creator?
HA! Tererun with a cool head prevailing - indeed, SNOPES has the facts on her quotes. She is not as stupid as I thought. I stand corrected. That's actually a relief - there are enough stupid politicians & judges to go around. Glad she is sane and mentally fit, no matter what her political leanings.
I just ask because some people on the left and right take liberties with meme quotes to make their memes work. I have run into the same thing with stupid quote right wing people have supposedly said. You are supposed to use real quotes which is why the joke works. Anyone can just make up a quote they wish someone said and that is not the same funny.
In the Senate, seniority is everything. Seniority is power. Period. The Junior Freshman Senator from South Stateopia can't even park on the premises. The 40+ year Senior Senator from North Stateopia can snore loudly, and drool, on the front row during the State of the Union and still get the best committee postings and have nearly limitless authority to do and push what they want, when they want it. Take the ten most senior Senators today and those are your real Frank Underwood’s.
But he's right. Both of them have been there too long. So have a lot of other people in the Senate and in the House. Turn over is a good thing. New ideas. Fresh takes on how things should be done. Term limits is an idea whose time has come.
@Dinner , what are the specific issues on which you have the most vehement disagreements with your two senators?
That wouldn't work out well. We would end up with the government run entirely by unelected government bureaucrats and lobbyists. Much more so than even today.
