Remind you of anyone here? http://nypost.com/2017/11/06/ex-friends-say-shooter-was-creepy-atheist-who-berated-religious-people/
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41892838 For those interested in real news. There was some sort of family dispute.
Nome of that contradicts my point. Chances are, he had a reputation as an unstable and potentially violent individual, regardless of his religious or political affiliations. The myth to which I referred is of the quiet unassuming citizen who one day suddenly “snaps” and kills a bunch of people. There are nearly always warning signs which go ignored.
No Queef, wrong again. Kelley's reputation was that of a creepy douchebag who harassed people over social media by obnoxiously preaching Dickynoo-style atheism. As for your unsubstantiated assertion that there are always "warning signs" that should tip people off that a person is going to commit mass murder..... No, sorry. Even this retard's domestic assault charges wouldn't suggest to any reasonable person that he would take an AR and try to wipe out an entire church congregation.
The church regularly posts its services online and this morning's press conference confirmed that there's video of this crime.
Since details are still emerging, it would be pretty irresponsible to jump to any definitive conclusions about this case, don’t you think? Nevertheless, Kelly’s reputation as an “outcast” and his history of domestic violence seem to fit the mass shooter profile. He had been building up to this, he didn’t just “snap.”
"There was a domestic situation going on with the family and in-laws," he said, adding that the mother-in-law had received threatening text messages from Kelley in recent days.
Geez, I hate organized religion too, but shooting 26 out of 6 billion believers ain't gonna make a dent.
As I said earlier and @Dinner ignored: A bad conduct discharge followed by a year or less confinement in the military means you are not barred from owning firearms once you get out of the military. It's only if you receive a dishonorable discharge that you are barred from owning a gun. This killer was given a bad conduct discharge. Now given his charge it's going to be asked why he wasn't barred from owning a gun under the Domestic Violence law. Does the Air Force report these things to the Feds? Are they required too? This man went into a store, filled out the form 4473, and was approved. Blame the government for letting him have the gun. Not the store.
Because it appears to fail and fail often enough. There are cries for more checks and yet they can't even get the existing system to work. The current system also winds up with many false denials.
Yep, ex's are reporting he stalked and harassed them. Treating women like shit seems to be a common thread for these guys. There is one thing, though, that an alarming number of the recent mass shooters in the United States share: A history of aggression and violence toward women. Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 32 people in the horrific massacre at Virginia Tech in 2007, had been previously investigated for stalking two female classmates. Elliot Rodger, who killed six and wounded 13 in Isla Vista, Calif., in 2014, was obsessed with perceived rejection by women, and not long before the shooting had thrown coffee on two women at a bus stop because they failed to smile at him. Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who murdered two police officers in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2015, shot his ex-girlfriend in the stomach just hours earlier. Cedric Ford, who shot 17 people last year at the Newton, Kan., plant where he worked, killing three, had been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend and had been served with a restraining order not long before the shooting. Robert Dear, who shot and killed three people at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, in 2015, had a history of domestic violence and harassment toward women. And Omar Mateen, who murdered 49 people at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, physically abused his wife for years, beating her because she had not finished the laundry or a similar offense. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-of-domestic-violence/?utm_term=.d684480344f7
"This was not racially motivated, it wasn't over religious beliefs," Mr Martin said. That is straight from the police so Flashy needs to stuff his anti-atheist garbage. As usual it is made up nonsense by a group desperate to deflect from the need for real gun control.
It depends on what proves effective. Like any good policy it needs to be updated peroidically as new evidence of problems comes forward. For starters universal background check, all sales only going through licensed gun dealers, and waiting periods until the background checks can be 100% completed. Obviously a whole lot of work needs to be done to make sure the background database is as complete as possible.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................................. They don't want you to bring that part up. All these mass shooters who like to abuse women. All leftists. When you hear the term male feminist? That's a women abuser. Or rapist.
The fantasy world is where you claim everyone is a leftist even though they are gun tooting red necks.
There is really no hope of any gun control legislation getting passed with trump in office. This is just what happens when you have a ton of guns around. Every so often someone is going to go off and it is easy enough to get one if you do not already have one. As we can see even with an armed response a bunch of people are going to die. This is the cost of having guns in society. You can see other countries who do not have guns do not have these things anywhere near as often. This is just what happens when you have guns around.
