Storm de-friended me on Facebook because he's seriously pro-Trump and I was pointing out that the orange buffoon is, well, an orange buffoon.

Jeez, I honestly thought he was smarter than that. Although Trump does hit a lot of the same notes Storm used to aim for (wealthy brash American and fuck the poor) but I'd assumed that was enough of a persona the guy wouldn't actually vote for someone like that IRL.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Modern Conservativism is built on a foundation of grievance politics. Strip it down and it all comes back to 'I feel wronged and everyone else needs to suffer', even if they have to drag themselves down to do it.
