I remember reading about this in grade school and thinking "how bad could a molasses flood be?" because that's how kids often are when it comes to things that sound funny. Of course, the reality was horrible, and I never underestimated the dangers lurking behind the silly and mundane again.

when I lived in Wisconsin one of my neighbors was a victim of a beaver dam flood. Well, their front yard was a victim anyway.
