Like I said. Shut up or risk wide spread infamy, expulsion, and probably a black spot on any future job opportunities...even if the "situation" you foolishly choose to impose your point of view upon is a bunch of racist assholes hurling insults at you. :)

Your own words. But for this particular group of young people, I would think you're probably right.

This. That’s why I said adults are assholes and will use them to their own ends. Right now, the dumbass in the Oval Office is inviting them to the White House. Meanwhile, they’re being used as ideological effigies for people who can’t recognize that these are children and don’t quite understand just how deep in it they are because of the nation and it’s divisiveness.

lesson? Stay the fuck away from anyone not like you. Don't engage, don't draw attention to yourself, just keep your mouth shut and fly under the radar. Don't wear any clothing that the left feels is offensive or threatening.

Pretty much sums it up! And don't complain either - when the left wants your opinion, they'll give it to you! Seriously though in the Army we had the Equal Opportunity Training, Consideration Of Others Training, Diversity Training, Cultural Appreciation Training, etc. All these were pretty much the same thing, which could best be summed up as "Shut The Fuck Up Whitey !" Training.
No big deal really - if the Army wants to pay me big bucks just to sit there & listen to the same classes over & over I'm okay with that. There isn't a test at the end of the classes so it's not like you have to worry about that.

I guess that is what everyone is now supposed to do: let vile racist homophobes screech their abuse at - in this case - American Indians, keep your mouth shut, and just walk away.

Yes, school kids should never counter racist and homophobic abuse when they see it. You are absolutely right. It is also a damn shame that these kids didn't know who they were dealing with. Like you, I too now hope, that they just walk away when they see someone harass someone else in a racist and homophobic manner.

Yes, I'm sure these boys have learned by now that standing up to racists and homophobes will get you nothing but trouble from those who want everyone to stand up against racists and homophobes.

It's disgusting how quite a lot of idiots managed to twist something positive into something "foolish" and "disrespectful".

I don't know if those kids were "standing" up for anything but that link you posted is fake news.

This is a story that was written months ago before this incident. It exposes the fake news you fell for.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...d-kentucky-catholic-school-diocese/650814002/

His speech was denied because he turned it in late. It was also highly political as it dealt with the Parkland shooting. The speech which you can read at the link has no mention of LGBT issues.

Another students speech, whose not gay, was also denied on the same grounds.

He also didn't go to Covington High School. He graduated from Holy Cross High School. Two different schools though both are ultimately run by the Catholic diocese.

    So this guy:

    1. Didn't go to Covington High School.

    2. His speech wasn't banned for dealing with issues regarding LGBT because in his own speech there is no reference to LGBT. His speech was banned because it was political regarding the Parkland shooting.

If you really had an argument that these kids acted correctly, you wouldn't have to keep hammering this point so hard when I've already said I don't care about the content of the offensive speech that triggered them. And let me save you some time: "What? You don't care about racism and homophobia?" Not what I said. I simply don't believe their reaction was appropriate to the place and time. Furthermore, I don't believe the purpose of their little display was to counter the hateful narrative being preached by the BHI. It certainly had nothing to do with standing up for the weak and oppressed. It was about making themselves feel better in an uncomfortable situation by performing a familiar ritual of group unity. Their group, all others expressly excluded. It was a herd-driven emotional reaction that failed to appreciate the context in which their behavior would be perceived. The adults who were supposed to be supervising them really dropped the ball here.

All you see is red, isn't that so?

I'm sure you'd say the same thing about the American Indians who approached these BHI fucks and pleaded with them to stop spewing their vile racism and homophobia.

This is the left's MO. Play on differences to score political points. 'Victimology narrative.' Pretty much Trump's playbook, and Obama's before him.

Hate works. Obama didn't explicitly preach "hate" any more than Trump did. In Obama's case it was hate America and rich are bad people, in Trump's case it was the more classic "they took our jobs" (amusingly, since protectionism and foreign-bashing was Democratic policy for most of last century).

Warren (new wealth tax) or Cortez (billionaires are immoral) are back to Obama's more traditional class warfare playbook, and many are exploiting the "right are racists" message since it has such traction among their base. Just look at leftforge.

Gender warfare (Hirono "women need to be believed") or Gillibrand ("our future is female”), and race warfare are the top key 'policies' on the left. Combined with the never trump message.

I'd say it's a bit far fetched to say Obama hated his own country.

    But I didn't say that, did I?

And I agree, I don't think he "hates" America, that was just his packaging. Along with being comfortable undermining some of the values that provided the foundation of the country. He spent years being indoctrinated by Reverend Wright, accused America of being racist despite steady improvement in race relations (up until Obama's administration when it reversed) and general tone was that America is a very flawed country, and we're really sorry about that.

So my quote "Obama didn't explicitly preach "hate" any more than Trump did. In Obama's case it was hate America and rich are bad people" - which was regarding what he "preached," Obama's *message*, not what was in his heart and mind.

I'm not even sure it was all that bad. It just needlessly escalated the situation. It was very adolescent, and very human.

Actually, they had a much more mature initial response. They came together and said a prayer. Same comforting effect of a group ritual without the challenge of implied dominance. :)
