The current US-Israeli relationship essentially dates to the 1967 war, where Israel demonstrated that it was willing to act as a gaurantor of western power in the Middle East, including in its confrontation with Arab nationalism, seen as a disruptive force in its ambition to create a unified and independent coalition of Arab states.

In fact, it was the decline of Arab nationalism precipitated by this that eventually led to the resurgence of Islamism in its stead.

They are absolutely great at the whole human intel thing and their intel sharing is pretty important. It is a shame Trump almost ruined that by giving classified intel to the Russians esposing Israeli agents in the process. The man is a human dumpster fire.

For those who belabor the treatment of the Palestinians on the West Bank or the Gaza Strip...how well do you seriously think those Palestinians would be if Jordan and Egypt still controlled those areas?

I seriously doubt that the Jordanians would be particularly friendly given the prolonged history of hostility between the Jordanian government and Palestinians. Remember Black September?

The good news is the Dem leadership is already seeking primary challengers to run against the racist anti-semite Omar. I am glad some sense remains in the party and they understand what a toxic piece of shit she is.
