No, it makes sense: Heat from cooking is psychologically different from environmental heat. I'd rather be behind a stove or a grill in a restaurant than outside on a hot, muggy day.

Look at the guy who doesn't understand he'd be dead in a heartbeat.

    razorwire...... :dayton:

Yeah that'll stop them dead in their tracks.

Not to worry. There is a very high probability you'll be joining them.

Another dead man walking. Tell us how you plan to get up north without being killed or dying on the way. Also tell us how you'll survive up north when winter hits?

What do you think the people in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Detroit and just the north in general are going to do during winter? They are going to try to head south. The vast majority will fail and die. The northern parts of America will be the hardest hit during winter.

Just imagine New York City without the ability to keep things warm. If you don't have winter survival skills, and I'm talking skills to live in winter in the wild, you're as good as dead.

There's a big reason why the federal government believes that in a true EMP strike situation that within one year 80% to 90% of all people within the United States will be dead. The country's people lack the skills, equipment, and food to survive the crisis.

And no I'm not exempt. The odds are very high I'll be dead along with the rest of you. I don't have the "survival skills" nor the equipment/food to ride out the crisis.

And consider this: After an EMP strike you'll have fires everywhere. The EMP can start some fires with electrical shorts but the majority of fires come from car crashes, plane crashes, industrial plants losing control, people starting fires by accident or on purpose in cities and forests. You'll have chemical spills all over the place as the automatic system to control this stuff fail. Nuclear power plants will suffer meltdowns.

Just think if some idiot lights a candle up in a city and starts a fire by accident. There would be no way to put the fire out and it could spread out of control.

The country is going to be fucked up.

Which is why we need to stop dicking around and EMP proof as much of the country as we can now before it's too late.

    Dude, it was a joke.

All the answers in this thread are jokes.

    It's meant to be fun.

Quite clearly pretty much all of us would be fucked.

I like it a nice steady zero degrees indoors, not too hot, not too cold.

The kids have plenty of jumpers strangely.

I don't have much body fat hence I have less insulation. I really notice this more in the summer. "Why" you ask? Let me preach on it:
here in Georgia the hot weather lasts from about May - September. For example right now at 6:00 PM it is 85 degrees, so most people wear shorts & t-shirt outside. I am wearing shorts & t because I'm getting ready to go out to a restaurant. But I have AC so my house is 71 degrees and wearing shorts I am uncomfortably cold. If I sat around in 71 degrees for an hour or so I would be freezing.
I'm not going to wear pants & a long sleeved shirt inside then have to change into shorts & t-shirt when I go outside.

65 in my house this time of year (and in the hottest part of the year) would cost me a fortune in electric bills and I'd be freezing all the time.

It’s quite pricey here too (currently 92 degrees out) but it’s a luxury I’m willing to pay for. I’d happily go without eating out or buying new clothes to have it be cool and comfortable inside...especially at night. I remember living in Missouri in a house with no a/c and that was just miserable.

My son is renting part of an old railroad tycoon's 1850 home. No AC except one small stand-alone unit that is currently not working. :whew: Whatever, he's a vet just like me....he's lived under worse conditions so it's not that big a deal really.
