Nope. Hypocrisy. Whataboutism is when, for example, someone mentions that someone is a fan of a rapist, and that person responds by pointing out that the person attacking them is a fan of a murderer. I'm pointing out that folks here have no problem with celebrating the death of someone who's politics they disagreed with are now complaining about others doing the same.

To my knowledge, the Koch brothers haven't spent their entire lives using and abusing women.

I don’t think I was around when those threads were made and I didn’t celebrate Ted Kennedy’s death.

They definitely didn’t kill a woman and then skirt the law by using their influence.

And the Kennedy family fortune wasn't built by working with Hitler and Stalin. Also, the Kennedy family didn't have a Nazi as a nanny as far as I know.

This isn't about partisanship. It's about the fact that individuals should not have disproportionate leverage on our government just because they're rich. The Brothers Koch are the flagship example of that. But to the extent that Soros et al are also guilty, I'll dance happily on their grave too.

I do appreciate his contributions to PBS and the public museums of Chicago & NYC. They have enriched my life and sparked a curiosity for the sciences.

On the other hand, he actively worked to abolish public education, denied climate science and his choice in politicians was awful. I still don’t see the need to pile on since so many are doing it.


In other news, it’s been reported that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has just completed treatment for a pancreatic tumor earlier this month. Yes it was malignant. Currently cancer free and still working, but that is a poor prognosis. I wish her well, & I hope her political opponents act better than us on the left at this moment if the worst should happen.
