It could very well have been serious for the individual you impersonated.

Your intent was to deceive. That means you lied. I'll grant that you likely did not intend to get anyone in trouble. However, the person whose picture you stole in order to perpetuate your deception was likely subjected to at least a small amount of harm because of you. So, even though you didn't intend to get someone in trouble, someone DID get in trouble. All because you lied.

You used his picture and identified yourself as being a male working for the very same employer. It's not hard to connect the dots and see that people would imagine the picture and the persona were linked. That means someone out there has been linked to this persona character by the usage of that picture regardless of whether their name is used.

Thought experiment. If hypothetically those TNZ posters "Samuel" interacted with has all been gathered in one place and the guy in that picture had purely by chance walked in, would they see "Samuel"? If a single poster has encountered him in the street would they have assumed it was the same person? If they had encountered him working in a professional capacity would it have affected their perception of him?

Clue, the answer to all three questions is "yes".

I started to respond to the biblical stuff up thread, but then I had a thought. Like every. single. other. thread. he participates in, I bet this turned into a thread about Dayton. I kept reading and that's exactly what happened.

When it comes to Dayton versus, well, everyone else neither "side" can simply show restraint and contain themselves. That's not a circus I find interesting anymore.

So, if someone were to appropriate one of the pictures of you that exists on the Internet and use it as a profile for a troll account where said account purported to be that of a teacher and football coach in the Arkansas school system and started to post things indicating that he enjoyed molesting his players, you'd have no problem with this?
