does that loophole exist in states that have tried to implement reasonable requirements for acquisition?
I'm noticing how areas of concentrated populations with such laws but still higher crime numbers (not necessarily rates per 100K or whatever) are close states that lack them.
I mean, if I could drive 45 minutes down the highway to Hamilton and jsut walk into a gun shop then come back to Toronto and flip my purchases for better than double and with little to no registrations...

Things may have changed since I was there many years ago, but going to the jersey gun shows was how you got around the more strict NY and CT laws. It might be PA now. The last time I was up in NY there was a pipeline for fireworks, guns, and lower taxed tobacco products from people who would visit others in the south. I don't see any of that being any better today.

You always went below PA because their fireworks laws only let them sell wussy level fireworks.

Granted innocent shoppers were killed by police during the incident (and a cop with five kids was killed) but the whole she-bang could have been avoided by not having a maniac shoot up the joint.
