In general: 1. TNG/TOS/DS9 2. DIS/PIC 3. VOY 4. ENT I'm not going to try to arbitrarily seperate the first three series or the latest two. Current Trek is solidly entertaining but - with the possible exception of one episode of Discovery - hasn't reached the same heights yet. Voyager was good at times but mostly poor. Enterprise was awful.
Agreed. I really don't like Michael Burnham, which is unusual because overall I like the show. (It's rare that I actually like a show where I can't stand the central character.)
I think Burnham is made of candy, and magic, and children's wishes. But, that could be because Sonequa is a cutie, and her puppy dog eyes hypnotize me. Maybe. I dunno.
Q said in "Qpid", "if I knew this was your Achilles heel, I'd have have appeared to you as a woman". So he's toyed with the idea of a gender swap.
Yeah but none of the others have history/beef with Picard. And most, from what we saw in VOY, are dull as ditchwater. Now there's Q's kid, but the original (albeit in a new bod) makes most sense - hell, bring deLancie back initially proclaiming he aged his look to keep up with Picard, then realising it doesn't suit his energetic nature now so perhaps a new take? Cue Dawson.
Levar Burton is in talks to come back as Geordi. I wonder if they'll re-canonize the bit from the "Countdown", comic where he designed and built Spock's Jellyfish ship.
My impression was that the Q are not gendered. Altho on the abysmally bad Voyager, they showed Q and Q "mating" to produce offspring . . .
Mating doesn't require gender. Besides, the event was obviously far more complex and "dumbed down" for us mortals. It's more likely along the lines of the V'Ger/Decker/Ilia fusion.
More importantly, will he do his goofy ass laugh where he sounds he was caught wanking to holodeck porn?
I wouldn’t have minded some fan service there. At the same time, the last thing we need is a Memory Alpha page titled “Federation Ships of the Coppellius Fleet” filled with a table of blurry screenshots and guesstimated registry numbers. See: Unnamed Defiant class starships.
It would be interesting if V'Ger/Decker/Ilia created the Q or brought humanity to the Continuum's attention.
That fan theory is stupid because V'Ger had a mission to learn all that was knowable and than tell the creator. The BORG don't do anything like that.
The novel "The Return", that brought back Kirk didn't have V'Ger be the Borg origin, the Borg assimilated Voyager 6, then it evolved into a standalone branch of the Borg. So, the V'Ger planet was the Borg homeworld, and Kirk found it, and set off a chain reaction that blew it up. That led to why the Borg suddenly attacked Earth in First Contact, and why they felt like they had to erase the Federation going back to Cochrane.
That’s pretty stupid. I was always under the impression that the Borg was thousands of years old so I always thought it would be cool to have something where Starfleet finds archaeological evidence of the Borg that Picard is involved in.
Oh, God I hope so. His crimes are worse than Jeffrey Dahmer's. We really have to take this shit seriously. No amount of screeching and hair pulling is enough!
Well... it’s been awhile. Has anyone had an inclination to rewatch season 1? I’ve been home a lot during the Stay at Home orders in my state so I’ve been watching a lot of TV. All in all, I’d say the season holds up well, but I do hope it gets better as the writers and actors find their footings.
