After far too long, and under the pressure of massive economic....incentives....the Mississippi legislature found enough Republicans to get on board for retiring the 1894 flag with the CBF design. Of course, this was only possible by swapping out overt white nationalism with some Dominionist virtue signalling, but hey, baby steps, right? https://www.mississippifreepress.or...ouse-votes-to-retire-confederate-themed-flag/ They appoint a commission to propose a new design - must include the motto - and that goes on the ballot in November, if it's voted down then they have to try again. Will be interesting to watch all the neo-confederate Pharisees figure out which religion will get their vote. For my part, I'm crushing on this proposal someone designed, although I have no reason to assume it will be what comes out of the commission.
You can change the flag, but you cannot change the fact it is MS. It is like covering the bullet holes in an awful house and pretending it makes the food better. You really need to burn that fucker down to get the rats and roaches.
That is a bad assumption that MS has the proper education level and abilities to do something "adult." However, outside forces could come in and purify the state with flames and we could start over with more adult people. Within a year MS could be a shining star of the US if we just replaced their entire population with woke people who needed some land and a place to start.
ETA: This is the county she represents. *Spoiler Alert* They weren't big fans of the Confederacy during the war.
I think the fact that two "transsexuals" are speaking freely for a political change tells you how far you guys have come.
I can't believe it...punch my name into IMDB and it comes up for a very small voice role I had as an over the top Klingon in an animated fan film called "Star Trek: Aurora". Whoda thunk it?
Now when are we dissolving the state of Mississippi, retracting its US Senators, and folding its territory into Alabama?
What makes you think that would be an improvement? I think that the end result would be akin to a Ford Pinto built by Yugo.
But more than that are likely to lose in November and we’d just wind up with another Florida with fewer beaches and more incest, so I’m not seeing a real gain here.
The thing with two party systems is those types of changes end up balancing themselves out anyway as party policies change to get votes.
Combine the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho into a new state and it would have the same population as Massachusetts.
Better than the current system where a party representing a minority has more power than one representing the majority.
California, Oregon, and Washington could join with B.C. and form their own nation. But the idea of sharing geography with me would make you , wouldn't it?
TBH, it's exactly the olds that keep us in the basement. If the youth were running things we wouldn't be such an embarrassment.
