Yes because we have seven seasons of DS9 vs a one off episode of TNG that says otherwise. But if you wanna play stupid games, we can do that. Tellerites have tusks? Andorians have little squiggly antenna things where their eye brows should be?
What's really weird is how DS9 Trill are obviously just Kriosians. And Andorians are obviously green. Or maybe it's just a TV show and not worth losing sleep over?
I'm not losing sleep over it. I was making a comment on how they messed up the well established make-up and keep messing with long established designs when it's completely unnecessary, just like they did with the Klingons. Yet the freaking cartoon gets it spot (pun intended) on. You may not care for consistency and continuity in the shows you watch, I do. As for that Andorian, it's a holodeck program and Lal was just "trying on" what she wanted to look like so it doesn't represent an actual Andorian. If you want a deeper dive though into make-up changes then I suggest this article that talks about them. https://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/changing-faces1.htm And this. https://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/changing-faces2.htm
(As Doomcock) This is proof that Alex Kurtzman hates his fans!!! HATES THEM!!! He'd kill you if he could!! We have to stop him!!! (Morphs into Kommandant) Ohhh, der juden!!! Sauerbraten der juden!! Pumpernickel der juden!! *Snarls at the microphone and it flinches in terror*
Seriously though, how interesting is it that the dog-whistlers didn't give a shit about Trek until it got a Jewish executive producer, and then they all crawled out of the sewer all at the same fucking time? Could be a coincidence, but it's one motherfucker of a coincidence.
"You may not care for consistency and continuity in the shows you watch, I do." Perhaps in your entertainment, but dude... you can't even maintain a consistent complaint here.
This why I say that I’m not allowed to criticize the show. The minute I do, I get dog piled on. When I provide a comment or an explanation for my criticism it’s mocked or marked tl;dr or dumb or whatever. You guys don’t want to actually discuss things like reasonable people, you just want me to praise the show and agree how great it is. So I’m going to keep my opinions to myself because I’m not sitting here and taking this bullshit anymore
You’re a complete fucking moron, get a life. You’ve created this boogeyman out of Doomcock because you’re in love with some transgender loser who reminds you of you and thinks he’s a Nazi based on shoddy “evidence “. Get over yourself.
Oh, come on, you forgot to add a gay slur, and reference to poopie. I mean, if you're gonna regress to ad-hom, go full schoolyard.
So? Why aren’t they talking about Berman now? Why do they have respect for Gene Roddenberry? He’s Jewish you know? It’s almost as if your whole bulshit theory falls apart when you have to acknowledge the huge gaping holes in it.
he doesn't even bother to maintain logical consistency in the same post and it isn't the same old shit troll as always?
Anyway! Mixed emotions on Saru's promotion to captain. Burnham is inching her way closer to captain, and for her to become captain, Saru has to die, or leave some other way, and...I don't want him to go. I want Burnham to get the big chair, and yet not also. Y'know? Also, do you think Discovery stays in the future, or every season they bounce round somewhere else?
I mean... The original premise I heard about was an anthology series, with a different ship, crew, and setting every season. They've kept the ship and most of the crew, but the concept of a new setting and premise every season seems to have been retained. Hopefully they'll stick with it. There's got to be a reason the Discovery was left intact and abandoned for so many years during that one Short Trek.
Doesn’t MikeySpock have to send the seventh signal at some point so they have to get back at some point as well or will they just ignore their own continuity as usual?
No, the seventh signal was sent back via the wormhole as a "we made it" signal. We saw that she sent it from Pike and Co's perspective at the end of the finale. WHEN she sends it could be any time hence from Discovery's perspective. Going back risks some remnant of Control getting hold of the sphere data again, so they can't do it - or they don't think they can based on what they currently know.
I'm telling you, everyone should put him on ignore. Sure, sometimes threads don't entirely make sense but you can always tell when Federal Farmer is shitting up a thread.
There's a really good theory that "the burn", might be a galaxy-wide Omega Molecule event that cut off warp. This would be perfect for Discovery, cuz with spore drive, they'd be immune, and be THE ship to help rebuild the Federation. https://trekmovie.com/2020/09/16/st...episode-of-voyager-is-the-origin-of-the-burn/
So you're saying Voyager was (partially) responsible for the destruction of the Federation? Makes sense.
I thought they stopped using the spore drive because it harmed the beings in the mycelial network or did they forget about that?
No, that was Culber's clone-self being in there gumming up the works. Once they pulled him out, it was all good.
