Not only that, but the gerrymandering and gaming of the system is strong as fuck. I grew up in a white bread part of Northern California where my tiny town of 100k turned all 18 schools and most churches into polling centers, so it was never difficult to find an accessible site.

I used to be guilty of looking down my nose upon the idiot rubes of the South, but it was progressives and especially marginalized groups in those critical areas that put it over the top when so many Never Biden folks sat it out in "safe" states like California. People forget that CA was considered a red-purple state until 1996.

I spent almost my entire life in some of the deepest part of the deep south, but my accent is generic midwestern. I have heard some interesting comments from people who think a southern accent = idiot rube.

There are a lot of people who deal with oceanography here in florida, There is a bunch of crossover between those who like manatees and those who like to work with sharks. Remember Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen? He's got a podcast and in this episode he rants (at about the 35-minute mark) about how someone used publicly available information to show that he transferred $130K from a Trump-linked account to a lawyer's office in Beverly Hills. Now, in his defense, he points out that the person who did this just grabbed information about anyone named "Michael Cohen" and shared that as well. So, not cool that information about people other than the sleezebag lawyer who helped enable Trump was publicly exposed. What Cohen seems to elide over, however, is that the payment he's discussing is the one he made to Stormy Daniels' lawyer. So, he seems to be saying that it's bullshit that you could just share information about financial transactions anyone makes. It's possible that he's dropping subtle hints that there's more information out there and one just needs to go look for it to turn up a whole lotta dirt on a whole lotta people. I dunno.

I will say, that whoever is picking the background music for his podcast has some very interesting taste in music. Early on in the episode, Cohen's ranting about how awful Trump is and the music playing in the background is I Wanna Be Your Dog by Iggy and the Stooges.
