What I've always pictured as the perfect moving image for the opening of that song is something like this:
Personally I see a big blonde dude with lightning coming out of his eyes butchering evil minions on a bridge having just had his own ass kicked by his big sister.
good call! I read that D'yer Mak'er was their attempt to tackle reggae - and this was the result. My favorite is "Over The Hills And Far Away". Okay anything but Stairway To Heaven.
interesting and it ties in to the thread because: Heart's "Barracuda" is very much an homage to Led Zeppelin's "Achilles Last Stand" - skip ahead to about 25 seconds and it's pretty obvious. Achilles Last Stand (Remaster) - YouTube
I HATE when that happens! When my big sister got out the Hot Wheels track I knew what was coming. Y'all know what I'm talkin' about!
They also doubled as spears when you inserted one of the little connectors in one end. For closer quarters, there was the slinky whip.
I do not love them, so you can imagine my chagrin at 59 years old. That said they had their moments, but they weren't all that IMHO.
I feel the same way about most classic rock bands and their more popular songs. Not saying they're bad, but I've heard them all enough to last me the rest of my life
I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing Hotel California, Sweet Home Alabama and Stairway to Heaven ever again.
I could go the rest of my life without hearing pearl cram, nirvana, or alice in chains ever again. I remember one night with some karen playing Jeremy and I was actually happy when the bartender skipped her song for the rap.
Such a weird song. You're from Northern fucking Michigan and you're cosplaying as a Southerner? It's like being from Aroostook County in Maine and rocking a Confederate flag. Does not compute.
exactly! Not saying these bands are bad, but they have many other songs that as good or better than the hits, that many people haven't heard in a while or maybe not at all. Yes I know it's a music/radio industry and they have to make money and keep listeners, but there can be a happy medium too.
You might actually know this song. It has the lyric "She had hillbilly eyes that glowed in the dark." I swear I heard it as a kid in a pool hall.
