Liberals are smart enough not to breed in this disaster zone of a country. Unfortunately that means conservatives will be have the advantage, the dumb fucks that they are.

Yeah, but they'll also kill themselves faster with obesity, covid, and genetic illnesses from incest. :)

How much does it cost to give birth in the USA anyways? For both the insured and the uninsured. I’d be interested to see that

it generally all depends on any medical complications in the delivery. As for birth rates I do know - and this is purely anecdotal - that among my 31 year old son and his friends, peers & colleagues very few of them have kids or even plan on ever having them in the future. Politically and racially they are all over the map for what it's worth.

We have insurance, so the cost was the total yearly out of pocket for our insurance plan, which was $6800. The bill before insurance was just under 20k. C-section with 2 night hospital stay.

Vaginal delivery can range from $5k to $11k, c-section from $7k to $14k. And that's not even factoring in the prenatal care and post-birth care. What's covered depends on your particular insurance, but the ACA requires some degree of coverage (e.g. minimum hospital stays, etc.).

It's happening all over the Western world, but unless you're rich, America makes the prospect of having kids especially unpleasant.

Suffice it to say the cost is prohibitive to many people. Which I appreciate as a deterrent against having kids. On the other hand, if you’re already committed to carrying a baby to term, affordable healthcare should be available as for any other medical need. But this is where the US fails, as we have discussed repeatedly and at length.

Also I am glad that abstinence only education is finally catching on, and people are waiting until marriage.

if the cost of actual childbirth isn't enough to consider, the cost of raising a child over the next couple of decades really gets scary! :shep: Housing costs aren't going down AFAIK just for one example.
