I finished season two and while I don't believe people suddenly become gay, I still enjoyed the shit out if and I got a Thelma and Louise vibe on the last episode. I can't wait for season three.
I have not seen the show, but people can expand from their original attractions. Sexual attraction is almost certainly a scale rather than everyone living on the extreme ends IMO. We learn it is normal to be on the ends, and we mostly conform to that normalcy especially when it is as hammered into us as sexual preference and gender identity. The reality is our physical bodies are wired to physical stimulus as much or more than mental stimulus. Your body does not know the difference of male and female touch without other cues. If you could not see you could be easily fooled into thinking touch was done by someone of the opposite gender you think. Mentally you might find a connection with someone outside of your normal gender preference and things might get romantic and you want to please them. Then you might find that intimacy pleasurable and fall in love. The more open minded you are to alternatives, the more likely it becomes.
Who says it was "sudden"? We know that Ivy and Harley had slept with men before in Kite Man and Joker respectively, but nothing of their actual romantic/sexual history before that in the show. They could have been with girls or women before. Ivy clearly has a massive crush on Catwoman. Whether that is to be read as an actual sexual thing, a platonic girlcrush or something else is an exercise best left up to the viewer. And as for the two of them, it seems like the show has portrayed Harley as one of the few people that Ivy actually likes. Outside the show, Ivy has used her hypnosis on Catwoman at a minimum in Hush, which on some level implies they might have had something going on. And of course, Harley and Ivy had been previously been either rumored or shown to be a couple in at least some contexts.
Kinda funny to me that the WB execs got bend outta shape over Batmat eating out Catwoman, but him having a foot fetish was somehow more manly
Well, the show has taken this out of being an exercise best left to the viewer and explicitly said that Catwoman and Ivy had hooked up in the past. Turns out it was Nora Fries, rather than Abby. Guess Swampy has a type.
Coming from my big queer shipping ass, I expect everyone to take it with a grain of salt but I think they made the right call. It makes Ivy's big stunt in the pilot to break Harley out of her codependency all the more meaningful, knowing that she was trying to spare the woman who helped her from being as stupid as she had been. And also plus, we get canonically bi Catwoman. Everyone wins.
Have not been enjoying 3 quite as much as the first two but this last one was pretty hilarious, particularly the Two Face gags
I’m enjoying the show. Best version of Harley since Batman TAS. Didn’t think Kaley Cuoco could pull it off.
Okay, this week's episode was a huge improvement. The elevator fight reminded me of the fight in Hawkeye.
Season four is going strong, I like it better than season three. The funniest joke from this latest episode
