He would have been nice, but with a title like resurrections the actual magic negro to bring back would have been Gloria Foster non-CGI.
This latest trailer, posted above: I mean it's just a trailer but dare I say that this actually looks pretty good? I'm definitely interested to see it
My theory is that the machines tricked Neo into thinking he had won at the end of the third movie and they placed him back in the Matrix.
Are you all high? I'm approaching this with guarded optimism. I was all in for the Matrix movies 20 years ago, especially the extended universe shit like the Animatrix and the video games. I even liked Reloaded a good deal. But Revolutions burned me so bad that my therapist and I are still working on my trust issues. Lana, please prove me wrong.
My therapist already sent a cease and desist to Rami Malek after my disappointment with Bohemian Rhapsody.
Reloaded was a great movie, I loved it. That highway scene is one of the best sequences in movie history It was more difficult to like Revolutions, for sure, but it wasn't a complete disaster. Just a small one
Revolutions was just all over the place. I think my dislike of Revolutions seeped into Reloaded because the stories are directly connected. But you're absolutely right about that highway scene.
Let us remember Reloaded did bring us the great chase scene and some much better fights than the Agent Smith and neo final showdown. However, it also brought us the underground dance party spliced with neo/trinity clanky metal creepy sex. It is worse than watching kids with braces kiss. What if they got their metal bits hooked together? Do they start sparking when they start clanging together? Then I started wondering if you could do some freaky sex shit with some headphone jacks or some RCA cords? Do you hook the nipple clamps to the metal or the nipples? Could you short the system out if you hooked the positive up to the negative? Is the positive and negative even labelled? By the time I came back to my senses I missed the whole Oracle scene and was wondering why Neo was fighting a million agent smiths in a park that sounded like a bowling alley. No one ever explained why zion was some sort of freaky sweaty dance party.
So another Matrix movie is horrible trash because there are no now IPs, but another Spiderman is some great new IP that will swallow it up? This movie may actually suck, but it is nowhere near the MCU for lack of new ideas.
Couldn't agree more with the review's comments about the sequels. The first film was all we ever needed. Everything that came afterwords was pure Hollywood cash-in shite.
Watched it. It was decent, did it add anything to the original trilogy. Yes and no, could this one have been addressed in the original trilogy, yes. It could have been addressed in the original trilogy in another 30 minutes. As a standalone film, without being part of the the Matrix trilogy would it have worked on its own, yes, it would only need a short into. I loved the Warner Brothers part. And enjoyed that NPH's character was a lot more involved in the plot. Overall it was Eleanor enjoyable, but not necessary, it didn't need to be made and like I said earlier, it could have been addressed in the previous trilogy with just a bit longer run time in the final film.
I just saw it. You're being generous. I dropped a deuce this morning that was more original and creative than this turd. A completely unnecessary film that I hope completely bombs at the box office, so we'll never see this franchise again. I stand by my earlier statement that we only ever needed the first film. Oh, and to @14thDoctor's post, I thought the whole "fourth wall" Warner Brothers video game thing was far too tongue-in-cheek and obvious.
Just checked the Numbers and Sing 2 handed the Matrix its ass on opening day! And Spider-Man No Way Home, which has been in release for a week, more than quadrupled the Matrix's take. I hope Warner Bros. is paying attention.
I eagerly await your Media Central thread about your morning bowel movement. Because honestly I thought it was a bit derivative.
I watched it but didn't pay. Har har. A few decent bits, particularly in respect of how TPTB co-opt and regurgitate revolutionary ideas back to us for consumption. But most of that is lost after the first half and it's dreary and illogical from there on.
Ok, so I have seen this and I liked some of it, but it is not that revolutionary. It was an interesting ride. The love story was not why I watched the matrix and it felt a lot like twilight where I really did not give a fuck about the main character romance, but I liked the other stuff. If you had to pull it through on the love thing, then OK?
Yes, I saw it. It was just as puerile as the rest of the film. The "cat-trix"? Areyoufuggingkiddingme?
