    Brilliant

    Awesome

    Magnificent

Which one of those words, if said in a fake Hollywood plantation accent (think Vivien Leigh in Gone With The Wind) would touch your very soul?

I should have made this a poll, right? I should have totally made this a poll.

Okay, throw out "awesome". I was trying to throw in a Gen X touchstone, but Vivien Leigh would just pronounce "Awesome" as Awe-some. What about Vivien Leigh saying "Bitchin'"?

You're thinking of Janet Leigh in Psycho.

When I used to work for a company with a head office in Georgia, we'd get our American counterparts to say stuff during calls just to enjoy their accents and they'd have us do the same. "No doot aboot it" was a fair trade for an "I do declare!"

The first time I went to NYC, I was probably seven years old. My grandfather and I were standing on the fantail of the Staten Island Ferry talking. Some women, I assume commuters, were standing nearby and they kept moving closer to us. One of them eventually said, "We don't mean to eavesdrop, but we love your accent and just want to hear you talk."
