    Red Room thread.

    Because fuck you, Federal Farmer.

    Fuck you, Paladin.

And fuck you, all you other traitors.

Star Trek did something I didn't think it would do.

    It faced Jan. 6 head-on.

And it didn't side with the Trump-loving bootlickers.

    Oh, no.

It basically blamed you and your ilk for the near-destruction of humanity.

    GO STAR TREK

Let me guess: Federal Farmer is pissing all over himself because of the more inclusive cast?

This gets tricky for the Youtube trolls.
They're racists, but they have to hide their racism under dog whistles, so they have to find imaginary things to hate new diverse characters for in NuTrek, while grandfathring Uhura to pretend to be TOS fans.
    But now, we've got NuUhura.
    So she's old and new.
    What to do?
They can't lose their shit over her if they gave ClassicUhura a pass.
They can't give NuUhura a pass and lose their shit over the other diverse cast members without looking like hypocrites.
They can't give NuUhura a pass and lose their shit over the other diverse cast members, because their racist fans won't let them.
They can find ways to pick on the new actresses interpretation of Uhura, but then merely nitpicking her, and losing their shit at the other cast members is a weird look that people are gonna notice.
So!! What they're gonna have to do, is avoid Uhura entirely, take some other teensy meaningless nitpick, blow it WAAAAYYYY out of proportion, and scream about it hard enough they hope we won't notice about them avoiding Uhura.
So!! Look forward to that being what FF comes to us with.

He was actually quite supportive of them having a blind actor/character, but then that character is VERY white.

also strikes me as notable in Picard that the only reason Soong was able to get that close or even be involved despite the numerous ethics violations, let alone felonies was in no small part because it was a private venture launch.

No, you shat a few months back.

    You should get more fibre.

According to the following search, I’ve told you guys at least eight times that I didn’t vote for Trump. You apparently still didn’t get the memo so I’ll repeat myself again, I didn’t vote for Trump.

In the following thread I mentioned that I believed that Trump was indeed inciting violence so I don’t know why you tagged me in this thread other than the fact that you’re one of those people who doesn’t understand nuance and thinks everyone right of center is a Trump supporter or a Nazi or alt-right or whatever. Here’s a little secret, not everyone one is. Stop painting everyone with a broad brush.

As much as you have me sold on owning trumpistas, I have to ask: does it suck as much as Star Trek Picard? I mean that too does check several boxes (immigration, global warming, poverty...) but in the end it's still a carelessly written sorry excuse for a science fiction show. I dunno, maybe I'm strange, but whether it's an entertaining scifi show that does not insult my and everyone else's intelligence is still more important to me than ideological compatibility...

SNW is definitely more in line with the tone of classic Trek, if that's what you're asking. One story of the week without a bunch of loose threads and gets its point across in one episode. It's preachy in the typical way people are used to, so if you liked TNG, this shouldn't be a problem.
