Road signs I glance at while trying not to slide off the sheets of ice they call roads, in zero visibility.
My ancestors still desire my occasional company. As for why they live in the middle of the damn woods, solitude is my only guess.
Sounds like how dung beetles and cockroaches seem to flock together on occasion. I think the dakotas are a great place for that human waste. Thanks for keeping your shit out of the general population. There are enough asshats out there.
Fargo (which, granted, is in the other Dakota) is livable if you don't mind absolutely brutal, bitter cold for 25% of the year and a major summer flood once every five years. Of course, if you have a reason to live in Fargo you could also move across the river to Moorhead and have similar local politics, but a state government that isn't run by fascists.
*Crosses off the 'Stop there for warmth and escape from the blizzard' option* The signs are pervasive, though .
About as pervasive as the Tamarack The Best of West Virginia signs are if you drive through West Virginia.
It was 4 degrees this morning at my house. Not the coldest weather I've experienced here. Coldest was in 2010, temperature dropped to minus 12 degrees. Two years later the temperature hit 120 at my house. Coldest I've experienced was minus 34 degrees. Oddly, 4 degrees this morning felt colder than I remember the minus 34 feeling.
It is 44 F here in southern duh and the lizard people are falling out on the golf courses in torpor. That is what you get for being a wussy our of shape old white guy who plays golf for exercise.

Was 41c/106f here yesterday. On the positive side the hot weather is really good for helping to accelerate my Covid fever.
Man, I hate I can't make the "Best part about winter is enjoying the memes from San Diego" joke this year That said, there are worse places to winter out than Reno, where it averages about 35 to 45 most days.
