I am still waiting for the good times. Since Biden came into power:

    1. Student debt loan forgiveness has been dangled and taken back without a fight.
    2. We have not even discussed fixing the problems with health insurance over a government option.
    3. abortion has become illegal
    4. Books are being banned.
    5. Trans people are being openly threatened and their medical care is being banned.
    6. Trump has been exposed for committing a number of crimes the federal government still wont charge him with.
    7. Trains have started to crash and derail because there are lax regulations for two years.
    8. We cannot pay our bills because corporate taxes are too low due to trump tax cuts
    9. We are about to default on our loans again, and joe is doing nothing to stop it.
    10. The immigrant crisis at the border has continued and gotten worse while Joe has maintained Trump policies
    11. We are actually restricting the teaching of US history to remove the racism because it makes racists feel bad.
    12. We have huge inflation.
    13. We have attacks on our free speech and the internet.
    14. We have domestic terrorists attacking our electrical infrastructure
    15. we have GLBT people going back into the closet
    16. we have racist cops amping up their abuses of POC or quitting because they can't be racist anymore.

Where is Joe with a plan or anything? We could have had the same thing under Trump. It actually might have been better because trump might have fucked some of this shit up. What is worse is that some of these things were things joe wanted and fought for in his career.

Come on Biden Bros, We are not talking trump vs Biden now, we are talking about whether we should replace this fool as the dem presidential candidate.

What are you going to do about it? The idea that the one federal executive has the reach to address all things that you find problematic is laughable.

By that logic another trump presidency is not that bad either. You are cutting your own throat when you candidate's best quality seems to be he is not trump.

Maybe if you say it in a garfield meme I will get it? or maybe it is really hard to polish a turd. In that case you might want to take some advice from the trumpies. You seem to be working with their material.

I was told you were some sort of bad ass. Do you have nothing without dayton? Perhaps you were never funny at all?

Oh no, that can't be it, surely you are going to show this old master troll how things really work.

    I am waiting.

They say with age, comes wisdom. Incidentally - so does incontinence & absent-mindedness.

I'm half Joe's age and have both. You have over 300 million people - pick someone else.

If you have to ask if a doddery 80+ year old man fixated on his next ice cream fix should or should not be the leader of free world ... I dunno what to tell ta.

The constant bashing of Joe Biden from the far left crowd is... a shame. But OK. I'll try to answer some of your questions since you pretend to not understand what and where the issues lay.

He went to bat for it and it was delayed by conservative judges. Let's let the process work itself out.
You live in Florida, right? This is due to conservative Justices that were confirmed by YOUR senators. What are YOU doing about it?
Again... This is a Florida thing. What are YOU doing about it? No books are being banned where I live.
Florida. Although I'm pretty sure that something will be done about this on a national level if given enough time.
Please be more specific. Can you name a federal crime you believe he committed?
I'm no transportation expert or nothing, but from what I understand somewhere on the level of 1000 derailments happen every year. The Obama Administration addressed this with additional regulations but they were undone by the Trump admin in 2018. If you want something else done about this, then we will need fewer GOP congressmen to get it done. You can start by helping to elect Democrats to the Florida congressional delegation.
Presidents are not kings. It's going to take an act of congress to correct the tax code. I'm sure you know what you have to do about it by now.
Why do you think he's doing nothing about it? Are you not paying attention?
.... and you think that bashing elected officials who want to do something about the immigration crisis is going to help do something other than help elect politicians who like thing the way they are?
Florida. Those morons that Florida elected has no bearing on how education is conducted where I live. If they did, I'd be out knocking on doors and helping get them out.
and it's going down. Not for nothing, it mostly due to initiatives from the previous administration.
    How is this Joe's fault?
If I recall correctly, Joe was the FIRST politician to advocate for gay marriage. Is this a national issue or a state one?
Thank you for being an ally on this issue, but I know who's advocating for me and I know who's in the way of police reform. Any REAL change is going to have to happen on a local level.... and I'm out here doing that work where I live. Who was it that put out the George Floyd policing act? Who voted against it?

First off, he cut this down to ten grand. Now he is just letting it sit there and whatever. We saw that when trump wanted to do something that his base wanted and was good for things trump would do daily things to kick it through. Joe threw it into the water and walked away. He does not do a fucking thing for it. You at least have to keep your issue afloat, and he is just letting it sink. That would be something if it wasn't for the fact we know Joe never wanted to do it to begin with because he is friends with the bankers. But you don't mention that part when you say let us just wait and see.

fighting against Joe who has done jack and shit to stop it. Again, Joe was the one who wanted to pass a law banning abortion after Roe. He is a conservative catholic. I am not the right who sees him as a satanist socialist. Joe is and has always been conservative on issues like banning abortion. He pushed back against Roe as hard as he could back in the day. All of a sudden Roe get's overturned and Joe is going to do something? The only thing Joe is going to do is a silent applause because he always wanted and fought for the end of abortion. But you expect him to champion the cause now.

First off, it is not just floriduh. Second, isn't Joe some sort of head of a federal executive branch which can make decisions on education standards on a federal level? I thought we elected the president to do things on a federal standard level, but I guess we just elected him to occupy the white house on occasion. He is like the governor of the nation. Ron Descumbag is the governor of floriduh and he gets how to use his people to fight for things. Is Joe fighting back? Ni, because Joe supported segregated schools. Joe likes Whitewashed history. Joe has always wanted private schools to profit to keep poor people away from his kids, and joe has always known poor = brown. That is not even getting into the fact that Joe opposed Gay marriage during the Obama years and listens to the catholic schurch who says gay people are an abomination to god.

Again, Florida is actually not leading this. I know the news wants you to think Desantis is the man doing all of this, but other states are leading on this. It would be nice if I had a national position to make some declarations about trans care and some federal agencies would try to protect it considering they override the states. But not Joe. He just throws up his hands because there is nothing he can do because he doesn't want to do anything. He does not want to fight what is going on. He does the bare minimum you force him to on these issues and that means nothing new is going to happen and anything that is there will be eroded while he pretends he supports trans people. At least you can see an attack from trump, but people won't see us sliding downhill because as black people know if it does not directly effect them they chose to pretend it does not exist until they are forced to see it.

You are referring to the mishandling of classified documents, the attempts to overturn the election, the incitement of violence towards our nation? Am I talking to Tucker Carlson? Even during his presidency the Mueller report said the only reason he is not charged with a crime is because he was the president at the time and he would have to be impeached and removed from the presidency before charging him. He is now removed from the presidency, and they could charge him.

    Are you fucking serious?

We have atransportation secretary who can make regulations, and the white house could try an executive order. He could at least try and fail. He doesn't want to and that is proven by his long visible history of deregulation for corporate profit.

Are you aware Joe Biden did things before he was president? You do not seem to have any awareness that this man has existed for decades doing deregulation for profit at the expense of the people.

I am going to cut the rest of this off here. It is obvious you are either lying for Joe or you are ignorant of what he has always been and are assuming a lot of things. You are ignoring blatant facts, and you are not making an honest argument.

Come back with something better than this crap. Do some research. It is OK.

To make a Trek analogy, in Wrath Of Khan, after the Enterprise is busted all up, and jury rigged so it can JUST limp back to a starbase, Tererun would be going "so, when does the Enterprise get good?".

Yeah! Biden should be more like Trump. Trump NEVER broke any of his campaign promises. He totally built that wall. :dayton:

A President is not a King... and 2023 is not 1973. Roe was struck down in the courts. The Courts are going to have to fix it. The only way to do that is to elect politicians who will appoint Justices who will do that. So if you're "fighting against Joe" then I think you are being counter-productive. Earlier you were bitching about the Executive Order Biden did to wipe out student loans that was struck down by the court and here you're advocating he try the same thing again with Roe. This process is going to have to play out and hopefully... HOPEFULY.... it won't take the 50 years it took for the GOP to strike Roe down.
I'm sorry, but you seem to be confused as to where to focus your efforts. This is a State issue.
I know there are other states implementing similar laws and I believe that this will be rectified soon. This is egregiously poor legislation and I can think of several CONSERVATIVE arguments to strike these things down in court. But these sort of appropriate and lasting remedies take time. I know it's not enough now but trust me, Executive Orders are the least effective form of governing because the next guy or the courts can just strike it down ala student loan forgiveness.

I'll give you number 7 and 10. The train protection Trump rolled back is one thing but Biden voting for forcing people to work without days off made the issue work. It's also not without good reason that non-Cuban Latinos largely supported Sanders in the primaries.

Thing is, the decades of Carter slander have long proven that any halfway decent person to make it into office will face an uphill battle to get shit done, especially if they actually want to work within the system and it seems more and more like people on both sides of the aisle want one person to be the Messiah to either fix all the problems singlehandedly or to die for all our sins.

And it's just...not like that. A President is only one person and they can move the needle but they don't work alone.

So when is the Biden presidency going to start being good?

The Biden presidency has already had some successes, such as passing the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which provided economic relief to millions of Americans, and rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change. However, there are still many challenges facing the administration, such as inflation, the war in Ukraine, and political polarization. It is difficult to say when the Biden presidency will start being "good" for everyone, as that depends on individual priorities and expectations. However, the administration is working on a number of initiatives that could have a positive impact on many Americans, such as the Build Back Better Act, which would invest in infrastructure, education, and climate change. It is possible that these initiatives could help to improve the economy and make life better for many Americans.

Your analogy would be correct if things were good pre-trump. Since we had decades of pre-trump Biden crap it wasn't like the enterprise in your example was doing much more than a garbage scow before he was in charge.

This idea that things were good in america before Trump is very white privilege. I come from that area, and things were pretty good for me in many areas, but I got a glimpse of what it was like for other people, and I did suffer the anihilation of a very good career and life I had in NY for coming out as trans in a very small and private way in NY during the early Obama years when you say things were the great awesome.

Again, during the pre-trump years we had Joe helping to pass and fighting for DOMA. We had Joe fighting against Roe and trying to pass abortion bans on a federal level to stop abortions because he was catholic. We had hoe Finger banging a woman against her will after demanding his staff make her get him drinks because he thought she was hot. We had Joe going againstr bussing black children to white schools because it would bother the racists and they would attack the black kids. We had Joe establishing tough on crime legislation that has worked towards racial inequality by white racist police who used it mostly against black people. Joe was a main fighter for our failed drug wars. Joe is one of the primary architects of our deregulated banking system that has earned him the title of the senator from MBNA which no other democrat has, and this has worked to help exacerbate the racial inequality built into the financial system.

But I guess things are good in our world, so we should just ignore all of that and be complicit in Joe's prejudices and bullshit.

That is not an argument, nor did I say that. As a matter of fact I said he should be much less like Trump and is not far enough away from Trump policies. So you cannot argue against my point and try to reverse it by claiming I want Biden to be more right. How intellectually dishonest and full of shit can you be? This is full on a republican tactic being used by you.
So hope and prayers are your answer? Well, that seems to work well considering women are dying today due to the draconian laws made by the right. The reality is if he was throwing failed executive actions at this, like I think Bernie would have been doing, then I could give him credit. However, when he was one of the people who wanted to ban abortions on a federal level when he was a democrat senator, and he has done absolutely nothing to fight for abortion rights, then I have to say he is consistent on being anti-abortion.

Do you have an argument to show that Joe has made any actions to stop the republican banning of abortion besides lying and saying he is pro-women's health care rights? You have given us no reason to hope that the man who does not think abortion is a right, and is on the record fighting for laws banning it is against it. Joe made attempts to ban abortion on a federal level, and you are telling us we should hope he does something for women when he has a record of working against their health care for decades?

If that is your argument then it is complete shit, and no one should hope he does something because he work's against abortion rights and women's healthcare.
We do have a federal department of education which could make some standards. If your argument is that this is a state issue then I am not for relying on local prejudices to be codified into law. According to your opinion sundown towns are ok because that is a local issue. I happen to be of the opinion that if you, as in you personally, happen to be out and about in a sundown town after hours and they try to illegally incarcerate you based on local racist laws against your black skin that the government steps in and says we cannot throw away people and step all over rights like the amendments to the federal constitution which would include the first amendment along with those restricting the police from taking away your rights due to skin color.

Of you are cool with things like bigotry being codified into law based on state's rights I disagree. You can join Federal Farmer, and that Storm guy (From what I know) over there on the state's rights to racism and religious prejudice side of the argument.

One thing that is nice is these laws do not effect you. I can tell you that while trans care is banned people will develop gender characteristics which harm them. These gender characteristics are painful or impossible to change once they are developed. So it is great for you to say just wait because you do not have any physical changes happening to your body. However, this is a method to be cruel to children who are going through these changes that will never be able to be undone.

So thank you for being complicit in the republican efforts to harm trans children.

I still do not see how things are good. You have not given me one good thing. You have only argued maybe things will change even though the person who is supposed to change has shown he is against any goodness.

Just what I would expect from a Biden Bros. BTW I hope you are good with hope and prayers when the next black guy gets killed by the police because Biden is doing nothing on racist police reform. I am not going to hope and pray he gets to things to change the policies of tough on crime and the drug wars that Joe has set to allow police to racially harm the black community. I hope that you are not effected by it and every time a POC is I am not going to be complicit because black lives actually matter to me. But hopes and prayers are good to I guess.

My version of TWoK had the enterprise looking good in the beginning of the movie. This is your analogy. Your analogy is that the country got all fucked up by Trump, like the enterprise did by Kahn. If the enterprise was already a garbage scow at the beginning of TWoK then it matches my claim that the US was shitty before Trump, and part of being shitty was the fact that Joe Biden had been fucking it up for years before Trump came along.

Make a good analogy next time.

Thank someone for at least bringing up something that might be positive. No really an actual argument is so much better than everything else that the Biden Bros have shoveled in here.

However, even with Biden's positive attempts he has let them become negative or ineffective. Like his predecessors before him the things he has done have been gifts to his corporate buddies while allowing everything else to sink further.

I purposefully left out the Ukraine war and issues related to that because that is an area that has gotten worse, but I think Biden has done the proper things there. We have not gotten into another forever war. We got rid of some old military equipment. We have seen what some of our new shit could do in a proxy war without americans dying. The only thing I left in there was that he could be paying the bills better by fighting to raise taxes to pre-Trump levels or beyond. However, that is associated more with Biden's history of lower corporate taxes and benefits for his friends.

Even his infrastructure plan was split between the corporate slush fund and the failed part that would have helped the people. Because of his policies we see a huge rise in inflation. When the country is sliding downhill you need to correct the direction, not keep on slipping away. Maintenance is important, and he is doing none of that.

Maybe this is part of the problem. Do you think if the US got rid of all the republicans it would get over the line and become good? Joe Biden is a democrat. He has a long career. He has supported the drug war. He has been a leader on deregulating the banking sector so much he is nicknamed the senator from MBNA. He has fought against gay marriage and for DOMA. He has supported forever wars like the invasion of Iraq. He has fought to ban abortion. He has sided with christianity and catholicism in our government. He fought against having black kids bussed into white schools because it would make the nazis mad.

You have not even defended or promoted Joe's policies. All you have sasid is he is bett6er than Trump. That is not good. It might be safer to let your kids play with lead than to play with broken glass. Should we be giving our children lead to play with? If there are only 2 toys in the room and one is lead and the other is broken glass should we let out kids play with either of them?

You have no Joe is good argument at all.

come on @Shirogayne it has been a couple of hours. You don't have a response yet. You must be wrong. Do you have something else going on in your life so you do not immediately respond to my thoughts?

Oh yeah probably that must be it. It would be really stupid of me to think that you just sit around and do nothing but wait to respond to my arguments. Who would be such an ass that they would honestly declare some sort of argument victory on a message board because someone didn't respond right away to their post? You would have to be completely of the ass loser to do something like that. Your argument would have to be so full of nothing that you would be rushing to victory on a message board like that.

I don't know anyone who would do such a thing like that.

You don't know me very well if you think I'd advise anyone to rely on hopes & prayers. My advice to you was to get up and do something about making real change in your community. With regards to Joe Biden's actions regarding abortion, all I can do is point out that Sen Biden was the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee for quite some time. He voted to confirm Justices that went on the protect a woman's right to chose for almost 50 years. Justices like Sandra Day O'Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer, Anthony Kennedy, etc. He also voted against Justices like Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Robert Bork, William Rehnquist, etc. As VP, his administration nominated Elena Kagan & Sonia Sotomayor. His very FIRST Supreme Court nomination as President was for Ketanji Brown Jackson.

This, IMHO, shows Joe Biden's support for a woman's right to choose is rock solid. Now... what evidence do you have that suggest he isn't? Because he understands that that legislation is the best way to effect lasting change?

You make a great point here. I'll grant you that. But at the same time, I believe that if given serious scrutiny in the courts these things will be struck down. I'm not sure what authority the US DOEd has over state and local education policies and standards.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I have to admit that I understand where you are coming from. I AM speaking from a position of privilege on this issue. My ancestors fought for legislative remedies for my civil rights a generation before I was born. I've enjoyed their achievements my entire life.... but I'm glad they sought legislative solutions or else, my life could've been a lot different. It still may be someday if we don't continue to elect the right leaders to office.

I feel the same way about feminists who came before me. Without them, I wouldn't be free to be who I am right now. and am very grateful. But, I also know while battles have been won, the war isn't over.

You keep arguing against Joe Biden of the 70's & 80's and ignoring the positions of Joe Biden today. President Joe Biden has had the benefit of a long career and has learned a thing or two. VP Joe Biden's administration gave us the Dodd Frank Act that regulated banks and made investments safer. He was also the very FIRST prominent politician to come out and support gay marriage. He was the VP to our nation's first black President. His VP is the nation's first black woman VP.

Speaking of Senator Biden's track record, people harp that he voted for the 1994 crime bill but conveniently forget that many black leaders also supported this too. Our neighborhoods had been going to pot since the 1960s as desegregation allowed black folks with money to move out of those areas, taking their tax base with them. Shootings happened often enough in the neighborhood I was born at that I could recognize gun shots before I could even count. :jayzus: people in the hood were at their wits' end.

Of course, no one thought they'd be putting people away for life over stealing pizza and 50 cent Big Red gum when this went into effect, but to say this was all just white people who wanted this is plain revisionist history.
