If a reporter is doing a story about pedophilia should they include a NAMBLA spokesman? :corn:

I haven't been to a church in decades and it doesn't bother me.

    Thanks for making my point.

Man, the leftie/commie organizations wish they could raise the kind of money that the churches can. You're talking about a con that's been ongoing for over two millennia.

I mean, if you’re covering a Pride parade and protesters show up you should include that in the story. But if it’s a peaceful event with nobody there to say how much they disapprove of it there’s no reason to go seek those people out at a completely different location.

It’d be like covering a July 4th parade and then going off to find someone opposed to the Revolutionary War.

You don't need to go to a Pride Parade when it comes to you. Pride is everywhere all the time. It's blatantly in your face and you can't escape it. It's in the candy aisle at grocery stores, fast food commercials, tv shows, news channels, National Geographic articles, kids movies, at work, so on and so forth. It's constant. It's gone from "we just want tolerance" to "you WILL celebrate us".

And we haven't even gotten into how your tax dollars are used to push that crap. Rainbow flags at the White House, Pride painted crosswalks, police cars painted up in Pride livery, recruitment posters, etc. You can't do that with religion, but they can do it to pander to the Alphabet Brigade.

And what you're seeing is the pushback. Bud Light is being destroyed over it, this news station is realizing it is costing them viewers, recruitment numbers are down across the board in the military, and it's just normal people saying "no more."

Oh, and "it's just normal people saying 'no more''" is such a cringe inducing cheeseball fucking line.
I tried to let it roll past, but couldn't.
There's only one reason for allegedly normal people to say "no more" and it's at the fucking buffet after 2 and a half plates.
    3, tops.
If you pounded down 4 or more, you're not normal anymore.

"No more!" as a dramatic line is for action heroes after the (always brown!) drug soldiers kill his family with a Gatling gun.
Contrary to the NRA's cum soaked pillows, that shit ain't normal.

you did, by substituting "lefties" for "bigots"...that's how written communication works by utilizing context.

of course, that you're just blowing smoke out your ass is also an implied context here...

FFS, we can't put a 30 minute limit on realising you've made a mistake. FF is still not cognizant of mistakes he's made since his birth 14 years ago.

    A. How has this thread gone on this long without a Lanzman joke about "both sides"?

    B. There is a school of thought in journalism that yes, every story should have the "Here's the pride parade, and here's people who will die mad about the pride parade."/"There's a Holocaust remembrance but here are some Holocaust deniers" sort of balance. I'd hope that events of the last decade or so would teach have taught journalists that 1. nothing will ever convince people who have bought into the liiiiiiiiiiiiiiberal media myth that it's untrue and 2. that sort of superficial "both-sides" reporting doesn't really do anyone any good. But apparently not.

The reference was built into the thread title. :async:

What concerns me is that it's a continuance of that same post-election ratings over truth attitude we saw from Fox and Tucker Carlson. "We can't just say what's true right now, we need to say what our viewers want to hear! Think of our stock prices!" They've lost control of the monster they created.

Oddly I actually agree somewhat. It is TV news and that needs to get ratings. It is no longer the only source of news which has made it a niche news outlet where the demo is old, white, and right. You cannot keep the news on a for profit scale and then also show stuff that makes bigots like you turn the channel. This is why faux news kicks the crap out of MSNBC. Even I don't watch racheal madcow and the whiny fucks on that channel. I do not even watch their web bullshit. The corporate bullshit news is what boomers and righties want to watch. The only reason to force pride news on them is to forcefeed them pride news. No one is coming back because you put GLBT people on the news. I do not watch anderson cooper or madcow because they are gay. Who does that.

So yes I agree if you want to make money with the news you might want to have less GLBT content which pushes away some in your demo, and isn't bringing in new customers. That is business 101. The same goes for Bud light trying to get a new market that doesn't like cheep ass redneck righty beer. Your beer is drunk by stupid on the back of a pickup, not some pretty girl who is enjoying the finer things. It was slumming for dylan to pop open cheep ass beer given her image. You don't see other fancy female influencers popping a fucking bud light.

The problem is more that the news brings information from the world, and the bubble of conservative ignorance makes people stupider and less worldly. That increases trumpism and social mental decay. That encourages violence and trouble with disasters and pandemics. So on a societal benefit level you should force feed the dipshits some news to help society, but in a profit based system where you need ratings to fund yourself, and people have the option of a news bubble that runs contrary to capitalism. As a woke person the only reason I would invest in such a thing would be for the benefit of society and not financial returns on my investment.

Again, I get the irritation. Any day you want to outlaw sports bullshit everywhere in my fucking face, or churches doing everything in my fucking face we can talk. Until then if I had to put up with Yankee and giants fans in NY all the time every fucking year, you can deal with some fucking pride bullshit and a few rainbows.

Suck it the fuck up and deal like the rest of us. For that matter a lot more places get fucked up because of sports events than pride. So calm your stupid ass down we all deal with it. No, I am also not about banning sports celebrations or churches despite my hatred for them. I have gone through that idea and I am not really interested in pissing on any drunk sports fan celebration, or some annoying church blocking the roads every sunday. It makes some people happier and enjoy life so I will do my thing, suck it up, and deal.
