Aw man, I mean the jerking off in the theatre thing was super weird, but I sure as hell loved Pee Wee Herman

Paul Reubens was also good in that Johnny Depp movie, Blow, and more recently What We Do In The Shadows

RIP, may you wank it more appropriately in heaven

I remember watching the MTV Music Awards, his first appearance after the incident, and he just owned it:

Seriously though, dying by cancer sucks. Fuck cancer.

It's extra sad that his brilliance at comedy is going to be shrouded by him being stupid and unlucky enough to be caught whacking it in a porn theater when Lord knows that a goodly percentage of other celebrities almost certainly did far worse and got away with it, or at least, such accusations won't be prominent in their obits.

Wow, I don't think I knew about Rob Lowe having a sex tape scandal till now.

But anyway, I was talking about things even worse than picking up a hooker or having a threesome with one of the participants being underage (when according to the Internet, Lowe was 24 and Lowe claimed to not know that the 16-yo was underage): domestic violence, rape, assault, sexual harassment, etc. etc.

We hopefully won't find out for decades to come, but at a guess Lowe and Grant won't have their misdeeds mentioned as prominently in their obits, if at all. The difference might be that each of them have had way longer and more prominent careers, of course, and that their misdeeds were more blips. Whereas it's understandably hard to continue with the persona of a childlike character when you're arrested for jacking off publicly.

See I didn't know Sean Connery was accused of domestic violence. Just looked up some of his obits and they didn't mention it.

I don't specifically remember hearing allegations that Lennon was abusive that way prior to this either. I assume that the obits done on Lennon talked in code about a tumultuous relationship with and divorce from Yoko, but I don't know if any allegations of DV were semi-public, and of course back in 1980, we would generally have treated DV differently.

Sean Connery said that sometimes women deserve a slap in a Barbara Walters interview.
Everyone kind of laughed it off like "oh, you charming rake you ".

John Lennon admitted to hitting women both in interviews, and a song.
    He regretted it.
    Unlike Connery.
It was pre-Yoko, and the women have never come forward.

as for his jerking off in a porn theater, give me a fucking break. What the fuck are you supposed to do during porn? You are not there for the plot. Unless there is something I do not know, he was jerking off in an adult area for jerking off. There should not have been kids there, and as long as he wasn't rude and spooged all over some other guy for fun, then who the fuck cares?

Yes, I could understand the producers of pee-wee's playhouse caring because there is a family image thing, but he didn't rape the little children like some did.

I am glad he switched to some more adult productions, and I wish I had seen more of him in that area. I hope his end was not too hard, but it was fucking cancer. I actually really did not like pee wee, but I can see why others did. I did like him and actually he was a decent actor when you see his different roles.

I hope he enjoyed his fame and money because he did bring entertainment to a large group of people. He may not have had many roles, but I remember every one that I saw.

Playboy interview where he discusses the “proper” way to hit a woman. Then there’s the shit he did to his first wife after their divorce. He basically drove her out of the country.

It's sad that no one seems to be talking about his two best roles: His character on Murphy Brown, and his character on Pushing Daisies. For Murphy Brown, he was basically the guy from Airplane! who unplugs the runway lights and says, "Just kidding!" before plugging them back in, only his Murphy Brown character wouldn't have plugged the lights back in because he was fucking evil. On Pushing Daisies, he was a similar character, but he wasn't evil. I'm not really describing the characters well, and I can't find any good clips because all YT is showing me when I search are memorial clips.

Even as a really young kid who watched his show religiously, I never understood why Paul Reubens got in such trouble for jacking it in porno theater. It's not like he was jerking off during a screening of Beauty and the Beast. It's very bullshit that his career got ruined and his reputation tarnished for doing something pretty normal at a porno theater, while actual rapists like Cosby were running around at the time.

I think he felt he was trapped being Peewee and wanted to escape it. He wanted to be in show business and made the Peewee character his vehicle. Once famous he was trapped being him. As another man who was trapped into what he became once sang "Up on Housing Project Hill
    It's either fortune or fame
You must pick up one or the other
Though neither of them are to be what they claim"

That's because there's no money to be had.

Plus, Lennon got a big hole in his head a while back.
