4 right? Did they make a 4? I'm going with 4. 2 continued Reagan's story, 3 continued Karras's story, so....yeah, this is 4. If they made others without Reagan, fuck those. Linda Blair is coming back. Okay, so I listened to a podacst by a guy who acquired the Pazuzu statue prop as a collectable, and he went to a convention with Linda Blair to get it signed, but she had become a holy-roller, and didn't like talking about Exorcist, cuz Devil, even though that's THE thing she's fucking known for. She refused to signed the guy's Pazuzu, and even had a security guy like, not rough him up, but take him aside, and ask 20 questions. What, did she think he was a Devil worshipper out to put a spookum on her? It's a fucking prop. Get a grip, lady. But, maybe she's had crazy fans. Anyway, funny that she was all weird like that; now she's forgoing her Jesus-freakery for a payday off this old franchise. So, that's happening. https://www.darkhorizons.com/linda-blair-returns-for-new-exorcist/
Eh, in the late 80s/early 90s, one of the cable channels did a big Halloween event featuring the Exorcist and the host for the event was Linda Blair. I don't know what her stance is on religion, but I do know that she has said that making the movie was extremely traumatic for her as a little kid. (Not surprising, after all, as she was kept freezing on a set for hours while they filmed some of the bedroom scenes.) When someone wanted to do a remake of the original, they contacted her about not only playing a part in the movie but in helping them cast the new Regan. She refused because she didn't want to be a part of something that could traumatize a child the same way she was. Oh, I once tracked down the original newspaper article that inspired the novel. It's about two paragraphs long, and pretty clearly it's a case of a priest making shit up so that he could take a boy (yeah, it was a boy in the article and William Peter Blatty changed it for the novel) away from his parents for the kind of activities Catholic priests are notorious for.
Regan's mom is the exorcist? That's dumb. That shouldn't have made it out of the pitch meeting. That sounds like an AI's idea.
HAHAHA! Pazuzu strikes again. Get it strikes, because there is no way the production will happen that quick with the SAG-AFTRA and writer's guild strike.
Taylor Swift Just Scared Away One of Horror’s Most Popular Franchises The Exorcist: Believer ran off its release date after Swift announced her Eras Tour concert movie. @We Are Borg is overjoyed, I'm sure.
I am a little more interested in seeing it after that. It looks like they might be doing something as exciting as the original was. It will be hard to do with a movie about exorcism which we have seen just become a part of other bigger plots. It looks more like it is going towards a poltergeist idea with exorcism taking the main stage, and we have seen this done very well in other movies. Can the exorcist franchise compete with some of the new adaptations of that idea.
Hollywood; Exorcist isn't a franchise. You've tried to willpower it into a franchise for 50 years. It's not gonna take. Give up.
