The story doesn't say too much about the why of the withdrawal. I wonder if it's because a) Tacopina got fired for losing the original E. Jean Carroll case b) Tacopina got stiffed for legal fees by Trump c) Tacopina grew a conscience d) Tacopina got fed up with Trump (presumably) disobeying advice to not continue defaming E. Jean Carroll as this assess-damages trial starts up and saw the writing on the wall.

They should have humiliated him and macarena even more. The judge should have cqlled trump to the stand and asked him what his mother in law's maiden name was. There is no way in hell he learned that much info on him mail order bride. Then when he doesn't know the judge could say she wasn't that important to you so go fuck yourself.

Still denying it flat out is fine. They should just give him and her family that kick for being human traffickers.

And that's why Clinton wasn't impeached for a blowjob.
    Perfect immunity from everything.
And Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh didn't cry every night about it.
Because they were such champions of consistency.

I'd like to think that even FF would recognize that it is preposterous to say that presidents should have full immunity for any and everything because there's a chance that opponents would try to seize on any mistake and create trauma by seeking criminal charges and how scary the concept is that Trump openly says "a president should have total immunity for everything he does, even crimes."

Anyone who agrees with that statement forfeits any right to cite to the Founding Fathers or the Constitution as the basis for anything, and cannot be trusted with an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution.

Oh, look. He's still going to be on the ballot. Imagine that.
Maine dismisses appeal of Trump ballot decision

This is a potato no one wants, so they're going to flip it to SCOTUS and let them worry about it. SCOTUS will probably punt and say that since primaries are put on by the parties, the 14th Amendment doesn't apply. Then all they have to do is hope that he takes himself out before the general election so they don't have to do anything.

That guy is all sorts of stupid if he thinks that. This is why you don't pay attention to shit for brains in a dumpsterfire.

    1. Trump never gets tired of stupid excuses that make no sense.
    2. This is the primaries and anyone realizes that this shit goes all the way until november.
    3. Trump could have every advantage in the world and his people would be complaining about things being stacked against him because they need to excuse his failure.

Could you at least filter out a few dumbshits from the tweeterverse? Even Federal Farmer has mostly learned to not crosspost every stupid fucking thing that comes from his CHUD friends. Oh look, an american qriter had something stupid to say last night, and we all need to hear it. At least garamet was here, but this douchebag fucknugget twittard doesn't even come here.

I am sure someone I know has a twitter account and an opinion, does that mean I get to post everything they say when I have nothing to say that is of value?

By the time SCOTUS actually makes a decision the election will be over so all they have to do is stay any action until next November and then there is no reason for them to do anything.

It is good to be a lazy bunch of twats who can get bribed by the rich with no oversight.

Meh, this argument doesn't seem to have actually carried any weight with judges so far.

    No fan of Habba, but...

My understanding is Habba said something along the lines of: "I have been exposed to COVID through my parents and I have been feeling symptoms of COVID, so can we kick the trial to Thursday?" Those things could be true, and then she could have a) felt better b) tested and confirmed she remained negative for COVID.

So yes, it could be that Habba lied in order to get a continuance of the trial so that the potential testimony from Trump didn't affect the vote (or so that the juror who was sick had a chance to remain on the jury, or for some other purpose). But it could also be that Habba honestly felt sick and then felt better enough to participate in the New Hampshire stuff.

I mean, we don't know for sure why he was kicked out. A lot of people are speculating that he was getting kicked out for outing Habba, but for all we know, he was outed for copping a feel on her, or because he was a drunken asshole or any number of reasons.

I will add re: Habba that the narrative of Trump Bro being kicked out for revealing that she was at the victory celebration doesn't make much sense to me for a couple of reasons::

    1. Any damage from his having posted about Habba's presence had already been done, and removing him at that point accomplishes nothing positive for the Trump campaign.
    2. It's not as though he was the only person who posted pictures showing Habba was present. She wasn't exactly trying to hide that she was there. There was a picture of her sharing a stage with Trump, I believe, and presumably others captured her being there, including mainstream press covering the event.
    3. Given the level of criticism and ire Habba has already drawn from the judge, it doesn't really make sense for Trump staffers to try to protect her reputation with him because she has none.

As far as I've seen, it's not as though Carroll's lawyers have raised this issue with the judge as they presumably would if it was as big a deal as the spin would have people believe.

Occam's Razor says the more likely explanation was that Trump Bro did something else that got him the boot. That requires only one assumption, whereas the other narrative needs the following:

    1. Habba/Trump officials realized that Trump Bro took pictures with Habba and might post them or had posted them
    2. Habba/Trump officials were very concerned that such photos would blow up Habba's spot about her possibly being sick even against the backdrop of the Monty Python defense (I got better!)
    3. Habba/Trump officials were somehow uniquely concerned about this particular Trump Bro as opposed to all the other people in attendance who knew Habba was there and/or documented that she was there.
    4. Habba/Trump officials decided that either instead of telling Trump Bro to not post the pictures or to take them down, the best course of action was to kick Trump Bro out with no explanation

P.S. Mods, please restore the ability to edit one's posts up to a reasonable amount of time -- say 12-24 hours.
