Saw this earlier on facebook. All I can say is dude is lying. Amazon is not yet connected to military computers. The only response from Alexa is “I don’t understand the question”.
It’s not a joke. there have been times when this mild-mannered, pint-sized, mother of two beautiful baby boys would gladly have dropped a nuke of the little fucker next door who won’t quit throwing the ball over the fence.
Fun fact about Betran: dude was trying to get fired, so he'd ask for raises, thinking they'd turn him down. They caved instead. They should've bounced him off the show instead of Jennifer Lien, possible drug abuse notwithstanding. As for Torres, having the first Latina woman in a major Trek role play the perpetually angry Klingon was definitely A Choice™
That makes a lot of sense. But I would lose them both. Kes was a terrible character, played by a marginal actress. The cute little pixie facade fell the fuck apart every time she had to emote a little out of that range. "Trailer park chick yelling at her kids in the Dollar Store" sounds like a way better fit for her.
Voyager, along with Enterprise, has the distinction of being a Trek series with zero likeable characters. Even Seven of Nine, who was ultimately redeemed by Picard and actually became an interesting and nuanced character, was nothing more than catsuit eye candy in VOY. I mean, even Discovery has a few likeable characters, fer crissakes.
IMHO Seven pretty much took over the "enemies to uneasy allies to friends to lovers" role that Chakotay was supposed to fill before they neutered him. Perpetually angry self loathing Klingon, because she has to despise the source of her fiery Latina Klingon blood. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragic_mulatto
Deanna Troi is the only half-human in all of Trek that didn't seem to have drama with an identity crisis for being biracial, and that was probably because she could easily pass for human until she told someone she was part Betazoid. There's a lot I could say on that, but suffice it to say thank God that modern Trek makes an effort to diversify its writing staff nowadays so we get fewer lost opportunities like that or shit like "B'Elanna splits into two personalities when her DNA is separated" on the regular.
Excuse me, Naomi Wildman was a delight. And the episode where she helped save the ship made 1000% more sense than any episode where Wesley did it.
You know you're reading quality TNG fanfiction when someone remarks that half Betazoid pussy tastes different than regular human pussy.
Fun fact: I once got in trouble for telling someone she tasted "tangy." Tangy is way better than fishy...
It tracks. Kate Mulgrew is on record describing Beltran as a disgusting, malodorous drunk who had an ongoing battle with incontinence on the set of Voyager. During the filming of the episode Coda, Mulgrew described the potent smell of excrement radiating from her co-star. Afterwards, she asked to have her contract amended to prevent any further close quarter scenes with Beltran. Rick Berman refused and sharted in contempt. Such appalling behavior - and all attributable to a man whose acting ability was often likened to a slab of concrete (this eventually drew the ire of concrete slab advocacy groups, who asserted such comparisons were insensitive to concrete slabs the world over - particularly Native American concrete slabs).
@Steal Your Face and @Diacanu are in agreement! Mark this day. Maybe they'll french-kiss each other in celebration.
Having dated several women that were very nervous about the taste, I've found that blurting out something ridiculous almost always breaks the tension. "OMG IT TASTES LIKE GINGER BEEF!" works great on the Chinese ladies.
You've got to cut Beltran a little slack though, since he was a Latino playing a Native American... Dude probably had to spend hours every morning getting his makeup and prosthetics done to make him look like that.
If she were played by someone who didn't think a badass klingon half-breed in the maquis would express anger with all the sound and fury of a pissy teenage girl who got grounded.
I’ve not seen the actor in anything else, so I can’t say if that was her interpretation of the character or the way she was directed to portray the character. Either way, she isn’t K’Ehlar. Her character is intent on subduing her Klingon half. So, if she comes of as a whiney teenage girl, at least she’s playing a different character.
Jesus, I was genuinely psychologically tormented by teenage girls in HS, and I hate them way less than UA. I let that shit go, but he's gonna cling on with shaking white fists as the Hell vortex sucks him out of his deathbed.
