Another thing that I wasn’t aware of until the last two or three years wa that the song 3am was about Rob Thomas’ mom dealing with cancer. I will tell you this @Bickendan , knowing that really helped me. Just throwing that out there .I always thought it was a love song or a break up song. ETA: if you ever want to talk, I’m here for you.
Memorial service was today. Went well, despite the technical issues (on-site tech plugging the pedal into the Yamaha electric piano's output instead of the input; the sound system not playing the songs my mom specifically wanted during the slideshow; Zoom auto-filtering my Bue Yeti mic so my clarinet solo was nuked for the stream and recording). Family from NZ, India, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, France and across the States attended the zoom call, with about 60 in physical attendance. It's gonna really sink in soon, isn't it
