Fluffy? Like, thinly sliced, so it bunches up when you place it? Reminds me of a kid I knew whose mother gave him Hi-C all his life, so that when he finally drank real fresh juice, his system kicked it back, and he hwarked. Subway customers have eaten crap so long, they can't eat real food anymore.
I had a part time job my senior year of high school which included selling beef jerky and bacon to customers and I had to use a meat slicer to cut up the meats. It was not only hazardous (I cut the shit out of my finger once) but cleaning the slicer was a total pain in the ass. And it was one that was relatively simple and easy to take apart.
If you’re careful and you know what you’re doing you can turn on the slicer and just hold a sanitizer towel to the blade and clean it that way, but yeah, they’re a pain in the ass to clean.
Yeah, I used a towel and bleach for the blade, but getting into all the nooks and crannies was the real pain. Putting the slicer parts in a dishwasher would've worked great, but of course all dish washing was done by hand.
My 80's elementary school had a friggin' room sized dishwasher you pushed a whole tray cart into. Subway can't afford that shit? Bullshit, they totally can; the CEOs are hoarding.
God damn, cleaning those things to get the bits of meat out was fucking annoying. Yes, you could clean the blade quick that way, but the blade spun off bits of fat and meat and that would be where the bacteria build up would be a problem. Also, you bring in the new problem that everyone has their preference on the thinness of the slices. I watch at Delis while the person has to go through about 8 choices before they say they got the right thickness. Sure grandpa, you can tell the 2 micron difference with your fucking dentures. I swear I have seen the deli person just use the same setting twop or three times and just pretend they change it and the elderly fool was satisfied. They really need to charge a PITA fee for these people. At any rate the problem I have with subway is not that they do not have fresh sliced meats. It is that they only put one layer on the fucking bread. I am used to the old NY style sub, which we called a wedge because you had to wedge your fucking mouth open to get all the meat in there. They didn't do anyu fluffy tricks with that shit either. Subway is all bread, and though I like bread theirs is cheep and shitty.
Jersey Mike's has been eating Subway's lunch *ahem* with their superior meat and fresh slicing, not to mention the absolutely awesome apple cider vinegar. I haven't been to my local Subway since Jersey Mike's opened a nearby location last summer. Subway "meat" (if that's what it is) just can't compare to Jersey Mike's when it comes to flavor and freshness. Port of Subs is a pretty good Jersey Mike's knockoff, but they always skimp on the oil and vinegar and the vinegar isn't nearly as good.
The only chain sandwich shops I order from are Jimmy John’s (for the speed, not so much the taste) and these guys: https://www.potbelly.com/ Otherwise I order from local places.
Someone send this shit to the boy's Subway manager. One of the reason Subways sucks is FF works there.
Meat should only be fluffy if it's been taking a pounding all day and you don't fully wait for the refractory period between sessions.
