White skin was better because it was more delicate and showed the woman was more of a beautiful doll and pure from racial impurities. She was supposed to be a delicate prize who was only valued because she never worked and was only beautiful. Women bleached their skin and poisoned themselves with toxic white make up so that they could seem pure and delicate.

The whole idea of snow white skin was prejudiced and representative of racism and toxic masculinity and toxic femininity. It was also classist as fuck as working women could not maintain white skin, and only a princess or rich girl who was valuable for her dowry could maintain white skin in an environment where most women were sold and valued for their purity.

What @Uncle Albert and @Steal Your Face are fighting for is a racist and toxic masculine system of dominance where a woman who is not a pure white doll is valued. Switching the snow white is not racist. What is racist is that when the damsel was created the storyteller used snow white skin as the depiction of beauty when it was a racist trope to begin with, and to maintain such a standard really means you have to avoid sun and back in those days use toxic skin care and be a fragile doll.

While I agree with the sentiment, Disney's decision not to include little people as dwarves was based on one(1) conversation with Peter Dinkledge, who TIIC thought was all the consultation needed for How to Be Good Allies.
