well, if my claim need anything more to substantiate it... especially as it appears you WERE able to find it after all. try a bit of self reliance for a switch, m'kay?
Oh, cut the shit. It doesn't mention it, because it's not a priority. That was a blueprint for elevating intrinsic qualities and politics over talent, easily allowing for a the less talented person to be chosen in order to check those boxes. This is how you get someone to direct the new Rey movie who has previously only directed documentaries and actively expresses hostility towards men. Then men don't buy tickets, the movie tanks, and she blames her failure on "toxic masculinity. "
James Gunn had only done z-budget horror movies, the Russo brothers had only done sitcoms, Taika Waititi had done "What We Do In The Shadows", I could go on...
why presume "less talented" (highly subjective, BTW) rather than "all else being equal..." with the other qualities being extra value? I mean, it's no surprise that you're literally presuming white superiority as the default here, but...
Every one of your examples had done more than a fucking documentary, and was hired for more than being a brown female feminist. You were done before you started. You need to stop thinking this tactic of reducing nuance to bone headed simplicty for ease of comparison is somehow scoring you points.
Tell that to Disney's shareholders, Spacetard. I'm sure they're greatly comforted by the hollow victory of appeasing 23 people on Twitter.
ooh... "spacetard" aren't we edgy? I'm sure Disney's shareholders are more than content to have a few things that don't make as much money as others if it means new customer base. Sorry to be the one to tell you, but you ain't the target demographic anymore, princess.
Are you fucking retarded? She's got two Oscars and seven Emmys in addition to all sorts of other accolades, and Disney already tested her skills by letting her direct two episodes of Miss Marvel. How many Emmys and Oscars do you have again?
(for real... when you try to put others down with that particular slur, it just demonstrates how you were the kid in school who picked on the mentally challenged kids.. probably tortured animals too)
Disney+ is hemorrhaging subscribers, their last two movies lost money, and Bob Iger is currently fending off a hostile takeover. You may feel free to shut your ignorant cock socket any time.
Yeah, Disney wants all the money in the world, not just all the money from conservative America. They're not diversifying out of anything other than greed, there's no "wokeness" behind it. I'm sure they've got analysts working around the clock figuring out which demographics aren't buying their products and calculating what sort of products they would buy.
yet somehow, the company will likely survive and the SHAREHOLDERS will continue to watch the money roll in. don't you have some handicapped kids to go mug for their milk money?
I don't disagree that their content is suffering but you should Google "Disney Share Price" and take a look at their stock price in the last year. They're up 22% year over year
That's why UA's YT fart-sacks desperately have to carve out this narrative that Marvel is being woke-ified by the equivalent of Skrull invaders, and not that it was always progressive; cuz they know if they went after Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, they'd get their skins ripped off. Cowards gotta lie. And UA's gotta be a sucker.
hell, I watched "Turning Red" (because my home is in it-sort of). It flopped at the box office (partly from Covid), but was also D+ biggest streaming success and the second most streamed film of the year. Writer/director Domee Shi is also known for her directing credits on a Pixar short and storyboarding on three other features...
It should go without saying, but financial success does not necessarily have anything to do with artistic merit. And even if we were to spot you out of pure charity that Disney/D+'s financial woes were indicative of an increasing lack of quality in Disney products (as opposed to any number of other potential factors, such as a global pandemic's disruption of life and now people slowly beginning to willing to do stuff that they had to put on hold during the lockdowns, the existence of numerous competitors in the space, general superhero fatigue or what have you), it doesn't follow that a) the lower quality is connected to Disney's push for diversity b) that Disney is either aware of the alleged connection between lower quality and diversity or indifferent to it as a possibility. Again, there have been few post-Endgame products that have done as well as the pre-Endgame ones, and yet, Disney was just as bullish about diversity pre-Endgame as it has been post (presumably). Speaking mainly about Marvel, since those are the Disney related movies I know, some diverse products did poorly (The Marvels and the Eternals) and some did fine (GotG III, Spider-Man III, Shang-Chi). Some not-particularly-diverse products did worse than expected (Ant-Man III). One of their biggest hits outside of Marvel was Encanto. You are seem to essentially argue that because Disney is seeking to make its projects more diverse, it is not casting good enough actors/producers. But where is the evidence of that, other than if one accepts the implicit notion that actors/directors who are diverse aren't talented as their white/male/straight counterparts?
seems you're focusing on the effect, rather than the cause (no surprise there) they've shut down the "metaverse" division, and are consolidating production (i.e.:eliminating redundancy and what appears to be a boondoggle). Also looks like they're restucturing other properties they own, such as ESPN and HULU. nothing to do with ratings or box office is really mentioned as a notable motive here. Care to count how many times is this now that you've been shown for a liar? it may be easier to just presume an average 90% of the time for however many years when you're not flinging insults... (and try something creative for once, m'kay?)
You wouldn't know creative if it chewed a hole in your nut sack. And believing corporate double-speak on their own failures? "Nothing to do" is false. All areas fall under the same ownership, and all are failing for similar reasons. Prices too high, too much mediocre content, too diluted with political messaging over quality, Not even ESPN was immune to it.
Leftforge loves triple D, and I’m not talking about Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Deny, deflect and dodge.
