Did the battery in your i3 die? The dealer could charge you as much as $71K to fix it.

wow, that is a lot more than the ICE replacement in a car. So the battery is worth more than all the electronics?

If this is the case isn't it the materials that are worth so much and that means the car would be a target for thieves? Or is it that BMW is just charging a whole lot of extra money for their proprietary battery configuration and that is a brand problem?

I am honestly asking these questions.

If 10% of the quoted price is parts then I think it's the dealers hoping for a whole lot of extra money for labor.

I'm sure there's a disposal fee in there too.

I keep seeing "rancid" as "ranch" for a split second, and then that makes me think how much ranch dressing would it take to properly coat a whale dick.

Yep, sticking with ICE until H2 becomes available and viable.

Tesla has charged similar prices for new batteries in their cars.

Granted, Tesla is a car company in the same way Warner Brothers is an "entertainment" business these days, but if this is something that happens to all EVs, I too would like questions answered on that

Barring that, it's time we all start pushing for public transportation options because cars are getting to be more and more of a luxury item no one can afford, EV or otherwise.
