Lieberman died this afternoon, March 27, 2024, in New York City due to complications from a fall. He was 82 years old. His beloved wife, Hadassah, and members of his family were with him as he passed. Senator Lieberman's love of God, his family, and America endured throughout his life of service in the public interest.” Senator Lieberman's funeral will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Congregation Agudath Sholom in his hometown of Stamford, CT. The difference between Obama and Trump can be seen in how Obama handled Lieberman after Lieberman went bonkers and supported McCain in the 2008 election. Obama recognized that was still a “lean Democratic” vote in the Senate, so he didn’t go after him personally. If it had been Trump he would have dedicated countless hours to demeaning the man and having his sycophants torch him.
Lieberman was an independent. He was not independent because he was too progressive for the dem party. He was independent because dems like the clintons were not right enough for him. He was Joe Manchin before Joe manchin was joe manchin.
