The older I get, the more I object to corporate consolidation. It stifles competition and limits choices.

I said it in the RR and I'll say it here: I'd be happier to find Kurtzman had been replaced by Rick Berman than to see Zaslav anywhere near this goddamn franchise.

For all that WBD claims to be "broke," how on God's green earth are they in *any* position to take on Paramount's baggage along with it? :brood:

But without Obnoxio Corp being an $800 trillion dollar company, you'd never be able to get the thirteen kagillionth sequel to Timerider with photo-realistic effects! Nevermind that in the original Timerider folks were just having fun and not worrying if they recouped the $1 billion budget of the film, so it was vastly more entertaining than any of the sequels, even if the effects were done on an Atari 800.

I'm rooting for Sony, honestly. They seem to be happy with creating content without pie-in-the-sky notions that they'll do better at streaming than Netflix will and just pimp their shit out to let the streamer pay for airing rights.

Better hope that Sony is at the wheel if that bid is successful because Apollo is a hedge fund. Five years ago they bought the Cox Media Group and have absolutely wrecked it. :jayzus:

I can see it now, “It’s trekin’ time!” Yeah, no thanks, Sony has a bad reputation. “Let’s make an all female Star Trek, Jamie Kirk, Lenora McCoy, Ms. Spock, Akiri Sulu, Irina Chekhov, Mary Scott and Uhura (she’s non binary).

Carol Burnett already did it. Uhura was a guy though.

Long as it's a separate timeline and they're their own people rather than exact gender-flipped rehashes of Shatner and co., who cares.

Mary Scott can join Christine and Deanna in the Blatant Reference Trek Hall of Fame, even.

No, they’ll declare this the new canon prime timeline.

I love how the vast planetoid sized junkyard of aggrieved white male conspiracy theories that never came true never dissuades you guys.
Nope! This is the one! This is the one that'll come true! You'll see! You'll all see! :shakefist:

God, I mean Stewey has been expecting Trek to declare ENT non canon since Bush was in office  Instead, modern Trek embraces that more than any other show besides TNG itself.

Who knew that he could've been making bank to people like FF if he'd only waited till 2017 to be a kook? :diacanu:
